    1900's-1920's

    Food was essential during this time during WWI so soldiers were not foraging for food. A majority of food produced went to soldiers on the front lines. Food was designed to last a little longer and not rot for overseas travel.

    1929-1945

    In the Great Depression, people are more fatty foods so they could survive with less food. Since the cost was low and so was the availability, people are what they could. During WWII, people had scarce amounts of food due to most of it going overseas to soldiers. Food was designed to last even longer so soldiers didn't starve.

    1950's-1960's

    Women began making food and helped out. New foods were available and supermarkets were developed where people could purchase all kinds of food in one place. Food grew more commercial and lasted longer. Also, scientists could add ingredients to preserve and make food tastier.

    1960's-1980's

    Big food companies thrived and made lots of money. Fast Food became much more popular. Food laws and regulations were made through the FDA and USDA. These agencies regulate nutrition, and what is legal and illegal to put in foods.

    1980's-2000's

    Food was being traded overseas. In America, you could eat snacks and meals prepared in Japan. It was an incredible feat to be able to trade expirable items internationally. Humans achieved the ability to manufacture foods. Although, it is unhealthy, humans could rely on being able to create their own foods and not rely on weather or healthy soil.
