Elizabeth receives a letter from Jane informing her that Jane has fallen ill from being wet travelling to Netherfield in the rain. Elizabeth walks three miles in the mud to visit her.

Elizabeth arrives in muddy skirts, causing a sensation. The country doctor comes to Netherfield to inspect Jane's condition. Elizabeth decides to stay at Netherfield with her. -
Netherfield
Elizabeth, Miss Bingley, Mr. Darcy, and Mrs. Hurst all sit down for dinner. The Bingley sisters gossip about Elizabeth. -
The company gathers in the drawing room. A discussion commences on women's accomplishments, or lack thereof.

Mrs. Bennet, accompanied by Lydia and Kitty, visit Jane and Elizabeth at Netherfield. The Bingleys are persuaded in keeping Jane a little longer. Elizabeth stays. -

During the day, Elizabeth spends the majority of with Jane. In the evening, she converses with Mr. Bingley, his sisters, and Mr. Darcy. Mr. Darcy's attraction to Elizabeth grows. -
Miss Bingley attempts to annoy Mr. Darcy by teasing him on his liking of Elizabeth's eyes. Elizabeth comes across them on the grounds. She chooses not to walk with them.

That night, Jane is able to join the others in the drawing room. Mr. Bingley is attentive to her.

Mr. Bingley reaffirms his commitment to hosting a ball at Netherfield. Elizabeth and Darcy banter about his flaws, real and imagined.

It is agreed that Jane and Elizabeth will leave the next morning. Aware of, and unnerved by his growing attraction to Elizabeth, Darcy says very little to her. -
After church, Jane and Elizabeth leave Netherfield to return to Longbourn.

Mr. Bennet's cousin, Mr. Collins, arrives to "make peace" with the Bennet family. He plans to stay at Longbourn for nearly two weeks.

At dinner, Mr. Collins regales the Bennets with stories about his patroness, Lady Catherine de Bourgh.

After dinner, Mr. Collins reads Fordyce's Sermons to the Bennets until Lydia interrupts him with gossip. Though all apologize, Mr. Collins refuses to continue.

The five sisters and Mr. Collins walk to Meryton and talk with Lydia's officer friend, Mr. Denny. The sisters meet Mr. Denny's friend, Mr. Wicham.

Elizabeth goes to Meryton with her sisters where she finds Mr. Wickham. He confirms that the reason he did not attend the ball was because of Mr. Darcy's presence. -

Jane receives a letter from Caroline Bingley, informing her that Mr. Bingley has left for London, and will probably not return. -
Lucas Lodge
Mr. Collins proposes to Charolette, and she accepts. The fact that Charlotte does not care about Mr. Collins is problematic to Elizabeth. -
The news of Mr. Collins and Charlotte's engagement spreads, and the tension at the Bennet household arises. News arrives that Mr. Bingley will not return for the winter.

The Gardiners come to visit the Bennets at Longbourn. Mrs. Gardiner tells Elizabeth that she used to live near Pemberly estate, and that she remembers hearing about the young Mr. Darcy who was ill mannered. -
Elizabeth receives a letter from Charlotte asking her to visit her new home in Husford, which she gladly accepts.

Jane travels back to London with the Gardiners. -

While Jane is in London, Caroline Bingley pays her a visit. Jane realizes Caroline never really liked her. Elizabeth stops at the Gardiners on her way to Hunsford. The Gardiners ask her to stay with them for the summer. -

When Elizabeth arrives at Hunsford, she is given a tour of the house and the garden She learns that they have been invited to attend Rosings the next day. -
Rosings
The party arrives at Rosings, where Elizabeth and Lady Catherine de Bourgh have their first encounter. Lady Catherine tries to exhibit her status over Elizabeth, which does not seem to phase her. -
Mr. Darcy and Colonel Fitwilliam come to stay at Rosings.

Elizabeth Mr. Gardiner writes Mr. Bennet to tell him that Wickham will quit the militia for a low-ranking officer's position in the North. Mr. Bennet allows Lydia ad Wickham to visit before they move.

Mr. Bennet recieves a letter from Mr. Gardiner detailing the marriage arrangement between Lydia and Mr. Wickham.

Lydia an Wickham are married, and the two visit the Bennet family. Lydia reveals that Darcy was at the wedding.

Elizabeth writes Mrs. Gardiner and asks for an explanation as to why Darcy was at Lydia's wedding.

Mrs. Gardiner replies to Elizabeth's letter, informing her that Darcy is the one responsible for the successful marriage of Lydia and Mr. Wickham. However, he had insisted Gardiner received the credit.

Elizabeth avoids provoking Wickham during conversation for Lydia's sake, but makes it clear to him that she is not blind to his true nature.

Lydia and Wickham leave Longbourn. -
Aunt Phillips brings news that Mr. Bingley is returning to Netherfield with Mr. Darcy, but Mr. Bennet refuses to call on him.

Darcy and Bingley leave while Elizabeth and Jane talk. -
A dinner party is thrown by the Bennets, and both Darcy and Bingley attend.

Bingley visits the Bennet household again, revealing that Darcy is in London for about ten days.

Bingley and Mr. Bennet return from shooting for dinner and Bingley proposes to Jane.

Lady Catherine de Bourgh arrives from Rosings to speak with Elizabeth. The two argue about Elizabeth's relationship with Mr. Darcy, and Elizabeth does not give in to Lady Catherine's demands. -
Mr. Bennet receives a letter from Mr. Collins regarding Jane's engagement to Mr. Bingley, as well as Elizabeth's "supposed" engagement to Mr. Darcy.

Elizabeth feels hopeless and worries that even if Darcy is still attracted to her, that he will be convinced by Lady Catherine not to propose to her based on their differences in class.

Longbourn
Mr. Darcy returns to Longbourn with Mr. Bingley. Elizabeth, Bingley, Jane, Kitty, and Darcy go on a walk. Kitty leaves the group, and Jane and Bingley lag behind to give Elizabeth and Darcy a chance to talk. -
Elizabeth and Darcy apologize to one another and confess their love to each other. Darcy admits that he was the one who convinced Bingley that Jane still loved him.

After returning from the walk, and after the evening activities end, Elizabeth secretly tells Jane of her engagement to Mr. Darcy.
-
Darcy asks Mr. Bennet for his consent in marrying his favorite daughter. Elizabeth convinces her father of their love. Mr. Bennet is overjoyed at the outcome.

Elizabeth and Darcy inform the rest of their respective family members through letters of their engagement. The Collins arrive to celebrate.

The Bingleys leave Netherfield in order to be closer to Pemberley.
