Arrival to Hotel Côte d'Azur - Monte Carlo
The protagonist and Mrs Van Hopper travel to Monte Carlo, just like every summer, to stay in Hotel Côte d'Azur, the biggest and most expensive hotel of the city. There, the old woman always tries to meet new well-known people. -

Max de Winter meeting
While Mrs. Van Hooper and the protagonist are talking, Max Winter joins taking a seat and having a coffee in the hotel lounge. They have a talk about when they first met and the old woman wonders why he is at Monte Carlo. -

Mrs Van Hopper suffers illness
Mrs Van Hopper wakes up with a sore throat, and she is told by the doctor to stay in bed for several days. That lets the protagonist have a days off, which she is going to spend with Max de Winter going for a drive and visiting some places. -

New York's difficulty
Mrs Van Hopper tells the protagonist that they have to travel to New York after receiving a letter of her daughter saying that Helen's child is ill. Moreover, Van Hopper is tired of Monte Carlo. So, the protagonist thinks she is never going to see him again and tries to find him to say goodbye. -

Max's matrimony declaration
The protagonist made her last attempt on finding Max by going to his room. There, she and Max talk about it, and at the end, he compares being with Van Hopper in New York and living with him in Manderley. With that, he tries to get married with her, and she accepts it although she is scared of the situation. -

Arrival to Manderley
After the quiet wedding and the honeymoon travelling around Italy, they finally go to Manderley's Mansion of Max de Winter. The new Mrs Winter was curious and optimistic about the future, but at the same time a little bit scared and anxious because of the massive change in her life. -

New meetings
Mrs de Winter is getting used to the house. Next day after arriving, Beatrice, who is Max's sister and her husband giles Lacy visit Manderley to have lunch with them.
The protagonist also meets the housekeeper Mrs Danvers and she begins to be scared of her due to her constantly intense looks and stare downs. After having lived in Manderley for a bit, Mrs de Winter starts knowing more and more about Rebecca, discovering that she was almost a perfect woman, literally impossible to equal her. -

"The Happy Valley" of Manderley
Also, one day, the couple went for a walk with Jasper, the dog, to visit the "Happy Valley" of Manderley when suddenly, the dog went away at the end of the valley. The protagonist decided to rescue the dog, and she found him next to a cottage in which there were Rebecca's belongings. There there was a man who said that she was never going to come back because she was gone in the sea. This made Max very mad because he remembered all about her. -

The Manderley Nancy Dress Ball
Due to Mrs de Winter desire to overpass Rebecca she decided to
retake the dress ball as she wanted to surprise her husband with it.
So while she was designing the dress, Mrs Danvers intervened convincing the protagonist to choose the same dress as Rebecca used last year without letting her know. But, when Max and other guests saw her, he got mad because of the identical look, so he desperately asked her to change it. As she went upstairs crying, Danvers tried to convince her to commit suicide. -

Rebecca's boat
Just before the narrator was about to commit suicide by jumping from the window, a ship got stranded and all the people at Manderley tried to help. The scared protagonist went to find Max to see if he was fine, but she found him in the cottage. There, he explained all the truth about Rebecca and how she died due to a gunshot. Moreover, he recognizes the false marriage and her multiple lovers. -

The retake of the case
After finding Rebecca's body and the drown boat, the police had to reopen the case. Therefore, Mr de Winter was afraid of the possibility of him going to the prison, due to his culpability. During the inquest, a boat-maker confirmed that the boat had been sabotaged, suggesting the murdered instead of committing suicide. Then, Favell, cousin and lover at the same time of Rebecca, accused Max of killing her. -

The End pt.1
They ended up discovering that Rebecca had gone to a consultation with Dr. Baker in Londres, and once there, they founded out that she went there with a false name. And moreover, she wasn't pregnant as most of the people thought, as they discovered that she was ill with a dangerous cancer and that she had little time to live. -

The End pt.2
So after knowing the truth about Rebecca, they forgive Max about the accusation, and Favel called Danvers in order to explain her everything. Afther that, Danver couldn't believe what she was hearing and he refused to imagine Mr and Mrs de Winter together in the same house of Rebecca, so she ended up burning the whole house.
