Mahmud of Ghazni
Mahmud of Ghazni or Mahmud Ghaznavi was the first independent ruler of the Turkic dynasty of Ghaznavids. Mahmud ascended the throne at the age of 27 upon his father's death, albeit after a brief war of succession with his brother Ismail. -

Qutbuddin Aibak
Qutb al-Din Aibak was a general of the Ghurid king Mu'izz ad-Din Muhammad Ghori. He was in-charge of the Ghurid territories in northern India, and after Mu'izz ad-Din's death, he became the ruler of the Mamluk Slave Dynasty. it was named 'Slave dynasty' because Qutbuddin was sold of as a slave when he was young. -

Muhammad of Ghori
Muhammad Ghori, was the Muslim ruler who laid the foundation for the subsequent Islamic ruling dynasties of India which saw its pinnacle later in the Mughal Empire. He ruled a vast area comprising parts of modern-day Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Iran, Bangladesh, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan together with his elder brother Ghiyath al-Din Muhammad, which widely came to be known as the Ghurid or Ghorid Empire. -

Shamsuddin Iltutmish
Shamsuddin Iltutmish, was the third of the Mamluk kings who ruled the former Ghurid territories in northern India. He was the first Muslim sovereign to rule from Delhi, and is thus considered the effective founder of the Delhi Sultanate. -

Nasiruddin Mahmud
Nasir ud din Mahmud Shah was the eighth sultan of the Mamluk Sultanate (Slave dynasty). He was a son of Shamsuddin Iltutmish. As a ruler, Mahmud was known to be very religious, spending most of his time in prayer and copying the Quran. However, it was actually his father-in-law and Deputy Sultan or Naib, Ghiyas ud din Balban, who primarily dealt with the state affairs. -

Balban
Ghiyas ud din Balban was the ninth sultan of the Mamluk dynasty of Delhi. Ghiyas ud Din was the regent of the last Shamsi sultan, Nasiruddin Mahmud. He reduced the power of the nobility and heightened the stature of the sultan
