    With the collapse of the Berlin Wall in Germany, the Cold War came to an end. This also was the beginning of the end for the Soviet union.

    Afghanistan was the longest war in American history. It lasted from 2001 – 2022.
    The war in Iraq lasted from 2003 – 2011.
  • 9/11/2001

    9/11/2001
    On September 11, 2001 four aircraft operating under flights: american 11, 77 and united 93, 175 were hijacked and deliberately crashed in to: the two world trade centers, the pentagon, and what wouldve most likely been the capitol building. The passengers on united flight 93 were able to take back control of the cabin, but were not able to regain control of the flight deck. the aircraft was ditched in rural Pennsylvania, likely saving many lives. 2,996 lives were lost that day.

    A category 5 hurricane hit the southern coast of the US, largely severely impacting the Louisiana and New Orleans area. It caused $125,000,000,000 of damage, and killed over 1,200 people. It is largely considered one of the most destructive natural disasters in world history.

    Social media rose in popularity and many large platforms such as Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, etc. were created in this time span. As you can imagine, this has had many different effects, both good and bad.

    The US economy and stock market crashed, causing a recession. Many people lost their jobs and homes.
  • Osama Bin Laden killed

    Osama Bin Laden was assassinated by navy SEALs, in retaliation to the terror attacks on 9/11/2001.
