First Day ever flying on a plane was May 13th 2011. We lifted off from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to the beautiful land of Costa Rica

The landing was the scariest but after a couple hours of driving to the town of Heredia, we gathered together and ate lunch.

We toured around the park and got to see beautiful waterfalls and exotic animals

Volcano Poas We visited the Volcan Poas National Park and experienced an eruption.

After visiting the Poas Volcano we went to a souveigner shop where they sold coffee, mugs, jewelery and most importantly really inexpensive hammocks!

Met our host family on this same day.

This is the only male we had on the group doing spanish work on the board. Our class rooms are at least three times smaller than the classroom we are sitting in now.

Couldn't ask for a better dinner to come home to!

First visit to one of Heredia, Costa Rica's Elementary school

We taught a leaf lesson in english and also had them write letters in English as well

Mama Tica is the most popular person I know in Heredia. We couldn't walk one second without someone yelling her name.

La Corpia is a small poverish town near the border of Costa Rica. We wentto a small organization in La Corpio. We got to work with the Costa Rican Humanitarian Foundation for the day, which was really interesting and heart touching. http://www.crhf.org/index.html

The Crocodile Lake was probably one of the coolest experiences to capture in Costa Rica. I got to see crocodiles up close and in large packs.

The first and only beach experience in Costa Rica. Warm 85 degree water, nice waves, surfers galore.

We walked to our first day of class, about two miles. The scenary was so beautiful that it didn't matter.

We traveled up a 2 hour long skinny narrow road to reach the top of the mountain. When we arrived we were greeted with our family tico. This picture is of Maria Jose and Valentina my two hermana ticas.

We went on a Coffee tour and at the end of the tour were able to make our own candy! Peanut butter, chocolate yum!

I was invited by another group at CPI to play soccer, it was a blast. After we refreshed ourselves.

I got dropped off by my Papa tica to school with my hermana ticas.

A nature walk through the forest of Costa Rica in the Morning and then Spanish classes for the rest of the day.

La Fortuna and the Hot Springs. The nicest hotel view I have ever had.

The weekend wore us out so a lot of us relaxed and studied for Spanish classes.
