General Manuel Mier y Teran was sent to investigate Texas and he exaggerated on all of the things that were wrong with Texas. His report made it clear that Mexico needed to gain control of Texas. pg 194 in textbook2-1-12

The Mexican officials passed the law of April 6, 1830 because they wanted to further control Texas. The law included many provisions and angered Texans.

The law of April 6, 1830 is a horrible law. It prohibits any more slaves. Who will work for us now and now apparently we have customs duties on ONLY American items. It is not fair.

When William T. Logan came to Anahuac he started conflict by looking for his run away slaves who Bradburn had hidden and refused to let him take. Pg 198, 199 in textbook

The Anahuac occurances didnt really have anything to do wtih Mexico, but the slaves should have been let go. In the end when they did go free Bradburn was angry and started gathering troops.

I think that when Stephen was arrested Mexico gained nothing from it, but that i what mainly led Stephen to believe that the only way was war.

The Battle of Gonzalas was good for Texas because is showed Mexico that we wont be pushed around and they cant take what is rightfully ours.

In the early morning hours of March 6, the Mexican Army advanced on the Alamo. After repulsing two attacks, Texians were unable to fend off a third attack. As Mexican soldiers scaled the walls, most of the Texian soldiers withdrew into interior buildings.
