Nick finds a pen and decides to call it Frindle. He gets his friends to help him get this word started.

Students at Lincoln use the word Frindle. Mrs. Granger gives detentions, but this does not stop them. The parents and school are in an uproar.

Judy Morgan goes to Lincoln Elementary to find out about Frindle and the detentions. She writes an article and Nick and his word begin to spread and become famous.

Nick is interviewed on TV and Frindle goes nation wide.

Nick decides to go with a good idea. He gets students to stop buying school lunch until the cafeteria does a better job. Nick is back to his old self.
