Laxeiro By aliciaqv_ Feb 23, 1908 Laxeiro was born the 23rd February 1908, in Donramiro, Lalín, in the province of Pontevedra (Galicia). 1911 He had six siblings. 1914 José Otero Abeledo, Laxeiro, moved with his family to Botos. 1917 His childhood was influenced by the rural environment and the galician culture. Theese things made Laxeiro get interested in art. 1921 Laxeiro emigrated to Cuba with his family, he started to go to drawing classes. 1925 He returned to Lalín with a grave illness. 1926 He started working as a hairdresser. 1927 Laxeiro started dating with Luisa Villamarín 1928 He started publishing photos in Faro de Vigo 1929 He did the military service and he started publishing photos in El Pueblo Gallego 1930 Enrique Larrañaga teached him painting in Vigo. 1931 He painted Carnavalada 1931 He goes to Madrid to study in the Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando 1933 He returned to Lalín 1934 Laxeiro painted Mascarón 1934 He also painted Carretón de Niños o Juguete 1935 He moved to Pontevedra 1937 Laxeiro participated in an exhibition of the Salón de Arte de los Telares 1942 He moved to Vigo 1949 He painted Trasmundo 1951 The author's first monograph was published. He moved to Buenos Aires. 1952 Laxeiro painted Abstracciones 1968 Creation of Laxeiro museum in Lalín 1968 He painted La Vida 1996 He died in Vigo, at 88 years old
