Defeat of the Lipans, Lipiyans, and Mescaleros
In 1790, the new policy of making war on the Apaches and accepting help of self guided tribes. Helped the Spanish defeat over 300 Lipans, Lipiyans, and Mescaleros st the Sabinal River Canyon in 1790. This allowed for expansion and also allowed for a more flourished livestock economy. (97)

Louisiana's Gets New Owners
Napoleon Bonaparte forces the Spanish to relinquish control of Louisiana in 1800. This took part in his effort to recover the French Empire in North America. Unfortunately, the planned fell through. He ended up selling the land to the United States in 1803. This event results in the Spanish and the United States fighting to claim the territory. (102) -
Neutral Ground 1806
Spain and the United States came to an agreement call Neutral Ground, in 1806. This controlled Louisiana to avoid a breakout of war. The area between the Sabine River and Arroyo Hondo was left vacant. This agreement was signed November 05, 1806. Last Efforts to Amend
The new governor Manuel Salcedo took control over the most exposed colony. He was short on resources but tasked himself with reforming the frontier. He established law and order over people that couldn't be previously controlled. Even with all the effort Manuel but in, there was still a rebellion to come. San Antonio Taken
Gutierrez de Lara led an expedition that crossed the Sabine River. They arrived in Nacogdoches where they encountered troops that were not willing to fight. The Republican Army of the North took San Antonio, due to the Battle of Rosillo and many men lost.

Different Views on Mexican Politics
There was a split between Mexican politics, one side was Centralist. They stated Mexico lacked self-government experience and and that they needed a strong central government. On the opposing side, were the Federalist who believed that there was already established rule. They felt that decentralized power would not allow for new dictators. This led to the Constitution of 1824. -
Emperor of Mexico
Agustin de Iturbide was named Emperor of Mexico on May 19, 1822. Agustin new name lasted less than a year as he was considered petty and selfish. With issues arising like unemployment, debt mounting, and no resolutions for those problems. Iturbide did not have anymore support. This predicts the shift in power that is about to occur.

Plan de Casa Mata
Taking place in Veracruz, Brigadier Antonio Lopez de Santa Anan declared himself again Iturbide. The Plan de Casa Mata was constructed to end Iturbide's reign. This ended monarchy and called for an establishment of a republic.

Mexican Constitution of 1824
Texas and Coahuila merge into a single state. (135) The National Colonization of 1824 was passed. In October of 1824, the federal Constitution of 1824 takes effect.
