In 10/14/1066 AD the Norman Duke William I, attacked the anglo-saxon ruled England. He sailed over with his troops and armies of mercenaries. When his horseman attacked there rear guard and killed the english king. They had cut off his "legs" if you catch me drift. He became William the Conqueror after his victory. He was the last force to invade England and win.
