-
I was born in 1980 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
-
I joined Pre-school starting practice basic English concepts.
-
I joined to Baldorioty De Castro School in Guaynabo, PR. From that moment I Took English classes in the school.
-
I studied in Rafael Martínez Nadal Middle School without a significant advance in my English communication skills. I was a receptive bilingual.
-
I started in Margarita Janer Palacios High School. I was in a general program. On three years of high school I even took English classes. Only two times, that one of the years we read a very small novel named The Pearl, all the year. We only made drawings about the novel. The other year was completely different. We worked a lot.
-
I graduated of High School and joined to University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus. The arts were my passion and I didn’t think to take English classes by that moment.
-
I took some English classes in the university but our life as a Puerto Rican made us in continuous approach of the English language. So I continued being a receptive bilingual.
-
My life took a different course. I moved to Orlando, Florida and worked in Disney College Program by six month. In just three months I spoke English fluently. I just needed a push.
-
Back in Puerto Rico I started to work in the Puerto Rico Education Department as a Visual Art teacher.
-
The Puerto Rico government closed. Thousand of teachers lost their jobs like me.
-
The Department of Education opens opportunities to make 21 credits in English as a second language and I took advantage of the opportunity. Since that moment I teach English in elementary school.
-
I took English classes in a private college to improve my communication skills.
-
I started taking these bilingual education courses and I am very excited by the results that I will get and raise.
