My parents enrolled me and i was educated at Saint Anthony’s school in London, to be completing my school years.

During this time, I wrote comedies and studied Greek and Latin literature and entered oxford university for two years of study.

Around this period of time I returned to London to study law and worked as hard as i can to acheive what i wanted.

I was admitted to Lincoln’s inn. While I was at Lincoln’s inn, I determined to become a monk and subjected myself to the discipline of Carthusians.

After I declared Lincolns inn in 1496 I became a barrister following my father’s footsteps in 1501. I was torn between a uncomplicated calling and a life of civil service. I had to consider the priesthood decisions.

One of my first acts in the parliament had been to reduce in a proposed fraud for King Henry VII. In revenge, the king had prisoned my father and didn’t release him until a fine was paid from myself.

After king Henry VII died, I became more active once more and was aware of what is happening around me.

I was selected one of the two under sheriffs of London. In this ability, I gained a positive reputation for being impartial and a patron to the poor.

I refused to attend the coronation of Anne Boleyn in June and it was a matter which did not escape the king’s notice. This had a huge impact on me and effected me in many ways.

I was one of those people accused of involving with Elizabeth Barton the nun who opposed king Henry’s break with Rome but I was not attained due to the protection from the lords and I refused to pass the bill until my name was of the name list. In April I also refused to swear to the act of succession and the oath of supremacy and I was committed to the tower of London on April 17.

My feast day is celebrated on the 22nd of june and many people pray and celebrate this day with harmony and peace!

I was found guilty of betrayal and was beheaded next to bishop fisher on July 6 1535. my final words before I died were ‘The kings good servant, but God’s First’.Saint Thomas more was canonized by the Catholic Church as a saint by Pope Pius XI in 1935.
