  • British Agricultural Revolution

    British Agricultural Revolution
    The Agricultural Revolution was a time where there were new technologies being used to constantly improve agriculture. For example, such are the creation of seed drills, cotton gins, and spinning jenny's. It altered how farmland was used and how crops were cultivated. Over time, it influenced more agricultural revolutions and green revolutions which inspired the creations of GMOs and chemical fertilizers to use on plants.
  • Navigation Acts

    Navigation Acts
    The Navigation Acts were established by Britain to help benefit their economy. They stated that traded goods from other places have to be shipped with only British technology. They also took lots of other states' valuable goods for themselves. This was an economic change because this was a major enforcement of the concept of mercantilism since it was small 'feeder' countries that were 'feeding' Britain
  • Test Act

    Test Act
    The Test Act was enforced in England that started in 17th century but had it's main effects in the 18th. The act stated that gov officials have to be members of the England Church. They were then forced to take some sort of test, similar to the civil service xeam in China, to have a governmental spot. This changed society because it increased political knowledge and additionally continued to demonstrate the highlight of church vs state and how important the Church was in governmental decisions

    British Enclosure Acts
    The Encolsure Acts in general were laws that created more private lands for rich farmland owners to use. This was mainly implemented in Britain. It reduced the amount of land poorer farm owners can use. Because these new owners were rich, it led to better agricultural production. It led to change because this is changing the kinds of powers that peasants had compared to rich nobles and altering societal landscapes because they resorted to urban areas more since theres more land to farm there

    French and Indian War
    The French and Indian war was between the Native Americans, the British, and the French. The British wanted more territory in the Americas. However, this led to major debt for both the French and the British. This demonstrates economic change because this somewhat marked the beginning of the French paying for many countries' battles and not focusing on improving their society with the vast amount of money that France had
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The stamp act was seen in British Parliament. The act highlighted the implementation of taxes on printed items from the Americas. Many colonies didn't like the idea because the London stamp had to go on each individual paper used and it was expensive to purchase. This demonstrates how there was economic change because on top of having classes in society that were unequal, there was the enforcemnt of taxes on pieces of paper which eventually led to tension and sparking the American revolution

    American Revolution
    The American Revolution was influenced by Enlightenment ideals. These ideals reenforced that society was able to alter their government and reject the Britsih rule. The change this led to was showing other countries that they are able to implement the idea of natural rights and abolishing absolutism was very much possible. Additionally, it led to a new document, Declaration of Independence, which later influenced more declarations in France and women's advocacy declarations
  • Edict of Toleration

    Edict of Toleration
    The Edict of Toleration was implemented by Joseph II of Austria. This law stated that there was more religious tolerance. Although it didn't apply to different religions, it manily showcased how there was more freedom for the Catholics living in a predominatly Protestant state. The social change that this had on Austria was that there was a more unifeid society because it didn't matter what kind of Christian they were, they would all still get treated equally by society
  • French Revolution

    French Revolution
    The French Revolution was also influenced by Enlightenment ideals that got rid of an established absolute monarch. Additionally, it inspired abolishment between the French estates/social class. Finally, it also highlighted how there has to be equality between society whether it be property owning or tax paying, or advocating for equal rights between man and woman. This demonstrated social changes as seen by the absolishment of classes and political changes with the new form of government
  • Haitian Revolution

    Haitian Revolution
    The Haitian Revolution was when the Haitian's freed themselves from French rule. Toussaint L'Ouverture went against Euro powers like Britain and Spain and eventually defeated France. This was inspired by the French Revolution's enforcemend of Enlightenment ideals. This was a great economic change for France because the loss of Haiti was a stronger financial burden on France since they depended on Haitian slaves for economic production which they no longer had, on top of French revolution debt
