Saul crowned king

Saul was wondering one day looking for his lost donkey's when Samuel came up to him. When Samuel seen him he knew that he should be crowned king. Saul didn't believe that he is good enough to be a king but he was convinced otherwise.

Winning Battles with Saul

1040 BCE

Saul was a very holy man and found favor n the eyes of the Lord. He asked for the Lord to help them win their battles and the Lord did just that. A while after Saul became very prideful and that was the start of his downfall in the kingdom.

David the Musician

1035 BCE

King Saul would often get restless so he found a musician for him. David was a shepherd, who was a great musician that eased Saul's stress. David would play on his harp and it was beautiful music to everyone's ears.

David and Goliath

1032 BCE

Goliath was a giant and he challenged Israel that whoever would fight him alone and won they would be the Israelites servants. But if he won the Israelites would have to be their servants. Nobody was brave enough for days the Saul was bribing people but nothing worked. Surely David said he would fight him so Saul wanted to give him his armor but David refused. David took but 5 stones and struck Goliath down and cut off his head with his own spear.

Saul's Jealousy

1028 BCE

After David was done with Goliath he led the armies and killed 10's of thousands. Saul hearing every cheer that David was better than Saul started an up rise in him. Later on when David was playing for him Saul thrusted a sword at him and missed. Now Saul was a very good warrior and had amazing accuracy but he missed David from feet away.

David and Jonathan

1026 BCE

David and Jonathan were very good friends. Even David said his love for him surpassed the love of women. They were practically brothers and would be with each other all the time. Jonathan was Saul's son and would be the next king but he knew David would make a better king so he offered the spot to David. They show us the true meaning of friendship between each other. And they promised to take care of each others kids.

Saul's Temper

1023 BCE

Saul was getting so angry with David that David had to leave. Jonathan could not believe that his dad would do such a thing so he asked him about it. Saul immediately tried to kill his own son but missed again. Jonathan knew it wasn't safe for David so he sent a signal that he had to leave. Saul even followed David and had many men look for him and try to kill him. yet David had opportunities to kill Saul he didn't, sparing his life.

David is Anointed King

1022 BCE

Samuel knows that Saul is not a good king anymore and that their needs to be a new king. Samuel goes searching and finds David and knows that he is the one and decides to anoint him. Samuel tells David not to let anyone know about what he did because then surely David would die.

David on the Run

1020 BCE

When Saul was mad at David he was still married to Micah because of the things that Saul promised for whoever killed Goliath. David had to leave everything he loved to save his life. He was on the run for so long that Micah ended up marrying another guy.

Saul's Death

1016 BCE

One of David's army men came running back to David all happy because he killed Saul and now David could be king. David was furious with this news because Saul was the Lord's anointed. David went searching for the guy who killed Saul and killed him the same way. David even says that Saul was like a father to him.

King David's Victories

1015 BCE

When David was crowned king he helped the Israelites defeat so many lands. He would go out to war and return with the kings crown. But after doing this for years he slowly got tired and lazy. So David sent his mighty men out for him and became more and more distant from the Lord.

David and Bathsheba

1010 BCE

One day David wanted to get away from the people because he wasn't feeling so good. David decided to go up onto the roof and when he did he seen a beautiful lady bathing. He asked his servant who is this lady and bring her to me.

David Sin Against Uriah

1010 BCE

When Bathsheba came to the king he knew her as his best friends wife. They had slept together and then she told him she was pregnant. David knows that if this ever got out he and Bathsheba would be killed. David did the first thing that came into his head and brought Uriah home. Everyone would think that oh Uriah went home and now she's pregnant. But that's not what happened so David told Uriah to give a note to Joab, which he was holding his own death sentence. Sadly Uriah had died in battle.

David's Sin

1009 BCE

There was this man named Nathan and he had been searching for David. When he found David he told him that his first son would not live. Nathan told him this because he should be punished for his sin. David was mourning when the baby was born and was finished mourning by the time the new born baby had passed away.

The Sons of David

990 BCE

David had approximately 7 wives and most of them bore him sons. His one son had raped this young virgin girl and she would be his step sister. Tamar's older brother was furious with this and set it out to kill his step brother. At this point David didn't really care as much as he should have but he was mad too. Her brother killed Absalom killed Amnon and that made David mad too.

David and Solomon

988 BCE

David loved his son but sent for him to go kill two important people. The people were Joab and sheimi. Solomon was sent to kill them but somebody had beat him to it. Beneiah killed both of them before Solomon had the chance

Adonijah Crowning Himself King

984 BCE

Adonijah knew that his dad was dying so he just crowned himself king. Since Adonijah had this idea he asked for Joab to help him out. So really Joab is backstabbing David and he was one of his best friends. Adonijah figures out that David anointed Solomon to be king next so he runs to the Altar where it is safe.

Solomon's First Wife

973 BCE

Solomon's First Wife was pharaoh's daughter. This was before he asked God for wisdom so that would be his first big mistake. But since he is married to her they are at peace.

Solomon crowned king

972 BCE

Solomon is crowned king because he had a promise to Bathsheba that her son shall be king. David gave Solomon millions of billions of dollars worth of money in gold, silver, and bronzes each.

David's Psalms and Death

970 BCE

Near David's death is when he wrote most of his Psalms. David had been struck with an old age and knew it was his time so he wrote Psalms basically on his death bed. He would sing them as well he didn't just write them some of them today and beautiful songs.

Solomon Asks For Wisdom

Right after his father dies he offers a big sacrifice. God goes to him and Solomon asks for wisdom. He thinks he needs it because he is very young and inexperienced. God is very pleased so God gives him wealth, honor, peace, wisdom, and a long life.

Solomon Practices his Wisdom

969 BCE

Solomon is brought a problem with two prostitutes. Two women are fighting over a baby boy so that they can be taken out of slavery. So he has a solution to cut the baby in half and they share it. The one lady is great let's do it. But the other lady is no please don't kill him she can have him. So she's willing to give her son to someone else and watch him grow up. Solomon sees this and knows that the real mother was the one who would give up her baby

The Queen of Sheba

968 BCE

The Queen of Sheba hears all about how amazingly wise and wealthy Solomon is. So she travels from Ethiopia to check him out for herself. When she arrives in Jerusalem she's pretty impressed. She questioned Solomon with all kinds of questions and riddles, but he has an answer for everything.

King Hiram

966 BCE

He was one of the good friends of David. So when he heard that Solomon was David's son he wanted to help him. The city of Tyre was extremely wealthy.

Solomon Builds a Temple and his Palace

965 BCE

Solomon was a very strong man and one day decided to build a big place for the Lord. He built many things with gold and many other expensive things. This took Solomon quite a long time but he didn't care since it was for his God. Most of it was made out of bronze but on the inside of the temple was layers of Gold.

The fall of Solomon

960 BCE

Solomon started out a good person but then he knew how much power he had and he loved it. He had 700 wives and 300 Concubines. The wives would complain that he took them away from their God and that they were unhappy. Solomon seen how sad they were so he built them idols and then he started worshipping with them.

Solomon's death

958 BCE

In the last book that he wrote, which was ecclesiastics, he was very depressed. And we don't know for sure if he went to Heaven because he was saying that God and praying and everything was worthless. Depression can affect you immensely.

Golden Calves

958 BCE

There were two golden calves that were place at the south and north of Israel. God was very displeased. This caused an up rise in fighting. Everyone was fighting and unhappy.

Rehoboam

957 BCE

Rehoboam was a king but he wasn't the wisest. He sinned greatly against the Lord and made him disappointed. And he ripped his coat to symbolize each city with Adonijah.

Kingdom Splitting

957 BCE

Rehoboam was told by a prophet that the kingdom would split. it happened in the same year. and he reigned for about 17 years.

Jeroboam

954 BCE

Jeroboam I was the first king of the northern Kingdom of Israel. The Hebrew Bible describes the reign of Jeroboam to have commenced following a revolt of the ten northern Israelite tribes against Rehoboam that put an end to the United Monarchy. Jeroboam reigned for 22 years.

Abijam, Abijah

953 BCE

Abijam reigned for about 2 years and was the king of Judah. Him and Nadab were evil kings that followed in the footsteps of their fathers. His dad was Rehoboam.

Nadab

950 BCE

Nadab reigned for about 2 years. He was also murdered by a man named Baasha. Nadab and Asa reigned at the same time. His father was Jeroboam, who was also evil.

Asa and Battle

950 BCE

Asa was a man who his father was Abijam and he was also his brother. Their mothers name was Maacah. He reigned for about 40-41 years. He went to war against Baasha. Him and his father or brother both died and were buried in Jerusalem. 10 years into his reign he went to war against the Ethiopians and they came with over a million men showed up. He prayed to God and they ended up winning the battle with the Lords help and not one was left alive.

Asa Destroys Grandma and Death Cause

936 BCE

Asa seen how his grandmother was worshipping idols. So he did what was right in the Lords eye and took her down. He tore down all her idols and removed her from her position in power. And he died of a foot disease

Baasha

930 BCE

He killed the man Nadab. He was also buried with his father. Baasha had also went to war with Asa. Reigned from Israel. and he was a bad king

Elah

906 BCE

Elah was a son of Baasha. He reigned for about 2 years. Elah was killed by Zimri. And he also reigned in Israel. Bad king

Zimri

906 BCE

He had only reigned for 7 days. He made a great sin that made God angry with him. He had also reigned in Israel and was a bad king. He also killed himself by burning himself in the palace because he didn't want anyone to capture him.

Omri

Period: 906 BCE to 887 BCE

He reigned for 22 years that we know about. The kingdom was half and half. He was a evil king that reigned in Israel. Worst king that Israel can have.

Ahab

Period: 880 BCE to 860 BCE

He reigned for 22 years. He was also a bad king because he worshipped baal. His wife was Jezebel. He had reigned in Israel. He is the most evil beyond his father.

Elijah and the Ravens

875 BCE

He was a very holy man, who trusted God. So much so the the ravens would bring him food. And he had water from the brooke. This was in the middle of the famine so this was kinda nice. But half way through the famine the brooke dries up. So God gave him a word and went to a widow.

Elijah and the Widow

874 BCE

He went to the widows house and asked for food and water. She went and got him water but for the food she said that she was poor and only had enough to make some for her and her son and then they were going to die. Elijah knew what he was doing and said make me the bread first and then feed yourself and your son. She does and when she goes back her flour and wheat will never be empty.

Elijah and the Prophets

872 BCE

Elijah was challenging the prophets of baal to see which God was real. Elijah let them go first and they were crying and cutting themselves. And Elijah made fun of them and said "Shout louder!" They are all tired out and the people from israel are tired. Elijah builds his temple and pores a lot of water on it.

Elijah's Turn

872 BCE

He pored 60+ galloons of water when nobody has water. He prayed to God and everything burned up. The stones, the water, the altar, the dust on the ground. He kills all the prophets of baal and said go on your way because rain is coming. He prays to God 7 times and tells his servant to go see if there's a cloud and a tiny cloud appeared so he started to run and beat Ahab's chariots down the mountain.

Elijah Asks for Death

868 BCE

He asked God to die because he said he was no better than his father. He asks for death but he is running from death. An angel touches him and the angel set a meal for him and it gave him so much energy that he didn't sleep or eat for 40 days.

Ahab and Ben-Hadad

867 BCE

Ben-Hadad says to Ahab give me your gold, silver, wives, and children. And Ahab agrees Ben was confused by this point. The Assyrians lost because Ben was drunk and said to take them alive. God wants to show that he is the almighty so they go to beat them again. Israelites stuck down 100,000 Assyrians in one day and God kills 27,000 more with a wall.

Ahab and Naboth

864 BCE

Ahab sees a vineyard and he wants the vineyard and goes to Naboth and says whatever price you have ill pay it. Naboth doesn't want to sell it because it's been in his family for years. Ahab goes home and cries and cries and cries. Jezebel goes and get's criminals and spread horrible things about Naboth and Naboth is stoned to death. Ahab is all happy in his new vineyard and Elijah comes to him and says horrible things will happen to him and then him and Jezebel will get eaten by dogs.

Ahab's Death

860 BCE

Ahab goes to a prophet of God and he says if y0ou go in this battle you will die. Ahab get's mad and throws him in prison. And says if I don't come back from this battle you will stay in prison. And he says If you come back from this battle know that I am not a prophet of God. And then he was taken alive and was eaten by dogs

Ahaziah

Period: 860 BCE to 858 BCE

After Ahab had died his son had taken over the kingdom. However, he only reigned for 2 years. They had went into war and they were fighting in a city. The battle would take place on the rooftops because they were flat. Ahaziah fell through one of the rooftops and became sick. He went to Elijah twice and each time Elijah burned up his men. Until the third time he came and said that Ahaziah would not get up from his bed but he would die. And Ahaziah died right then. He was a bad king.

Jehosophat

Period: 859 BCE to 835 BCE

Was a good king. Made a mistake to marry his son to Ahab's daughter. Reigned in Judah. Reigned for 25 years.

Jehoram

Period: 858 BCE to 846 BCE

He was a very bad man and he worshipped the golden calves. He was taking things from his father and very evil in the eyes of the Lord. A whole army went into a desert and for 7 days they had no water. The king was sad and miserable and said at last the Lord is not with us. So they go to Elisha. Elisha fills a stream with water and says that they will win the Lord because this task is easy for him. Son of Ahab

Elijah and Elisha

856 BCE

Elijah knew that he was going to be taken up to heaven so he wanted to stay with Elisha for a little while. Elisha was sure to never leave his master for he loved Elijah too much. Soon then fiery chariots came down and took Elijah up to heaven. Elisha tore his cloak in sorrow but he was also amazed that he seen that.

One of Elisha's Many Miracles

Elisha was going to Bethel. Some young boys come out to him and make fun of him about his bald head. Elisha curses them and bears come out of the woods and tears apart 42 of the young boys. Then Elisha went from their to his different places and went on his way.

Elisha and the Shunamite Woman

838 BCE

Elisha went to a ladies house. She had fixed it all up and made everything nice. Now Elisha had his servant and Gehazi. Gehazi says how do we repay them. Elisha thinks this is great and Elisha says to her that she will have a young boy. She doesn't believe this and says don't tease me. Then they were blessed with a boy and about when he was 11 he goes home with a headache and she rocks him in his arms and he dies in her arms. And she meets Elisha and is angry with him and then brings him back.

Elisha and Naaman

834 BCE

Naaman was a commander of the Syrian army. Naaman had leporsy. And leporsy was a very serious thing and kind of like a death sentence. Elisha hears of this and he sends naaman over there. He says to wash 7 times in the Jordan river and the the river was an awful dirty river. He does it and washes 7 times and comes out with smooth baby skin.

Jehoram

Period: 834 BCE to 821 BCE

he was a very good and godly king. He reigned for 12 years. He ruled in Judah. Son of Jehosophat

Athaliah

829 BCE

She was the daughter of Ahab and she reigned for 7 years. She was broken into the covenant into the promise from God where Jesus would come out of. She was an evil person.

Jehu

822 BCE

He was a commander of Jehoram's army. He goes to give someone a message. Jehu is now in control of the army over Israel. Jehoram is sick so he rides to go get him. He shoots Jehoram and Ahaziah on the same day. He reigns 28 years

Jehu and Jezebel

822 BCE

He is going to go to Jezebel to kill her. Jezebel puts on make up and her best dress. Jehu asks if there are anyone on his side. and two men say yes so he says so he says to push her out the window. And then he runs over her with his chariots. And then she gets eaten by dogs

Jehu and the 70 sons of Ahab

819 BCE

He talked to all the cities to kill everyone from Ahab and send their heads in baskets. 42 people from Judah come to visit Jehoram and don't realize that he'd dead. Jehu hears this and kills all the visitors.

Jehu Serves Baal

817 BCE

He wants to worship baal even worse than any kings. And then he kills everyone who worships baal. And then he burns the worship place of baal and uses it as a waste plant. everyone who was bad is now taken out of israel.

Queen Athaliah

813 BCE

She was a queen who reigned for 6 years. She was a very evil king and wanted to break the Lords promise. She wanted to kill the whole house of the king. She missed one and he was crowned king under her nose. She's really angry and crys out for treason. The guards take her out back and kill her.

Joash

Period: 812 BCE to 783 BCE

Joash is a very good man who wants to build back up the temple. Jehoiada died at 130 when he crowned Joash king at age 90. His adopted brother, high priest, cousin, was ordered to be killed by him in the temple. After Jehoiada dies Joash was kind of like a push over.

Jehoiada

800 BCE

He would help Joash rule but when he dies everything goes to ciaos. He was a priest and he lived to be 130 years old. He would help the kings of Judah and anoint them king.

Jehoahaz

797 BCE

He was the song of Jehu. He reigned for 17 years in Israel. He was a very evil king and he did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. He led Israel right into sin again, which angered the Lord greatly.

Jehoash

767 BCE

When Joash was still reigned in Israel, Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz, reigned next in Israel. He reigned for 16 years. And then again he took the saem route as his father and did what was evil in the sight of the Lord.

Amaziah

751 BCE

He was the son of Joash, who ruled over Judah. He reigned for 29 years. Unlike the others before him, he did what was seen as good in the eyes of the Lord. He wasn't that smart at all.

Jeroboam 2

721 BCE

He reigned in Samaria for 41 years. He was also an evil king that did what was bad in the eyes of the Lord. He was the son of Joash in Israel, which made Israel sin.

Zechariah

720 BCE

This man only reigned over Israel for 6 months. He was also another evil king. Another man took his place after he put him to death.

Shallum

720 BCE

Shallum reigned only for a month in Samaria. His murderer was Menahem then struck him down and reigned in his place. His murderer was very evil and cut open all the women that were pregnant.

Menahem

711 BCE

After he has killed Shallum he reigned for 10 years in Israel. He was not a good guy and did what was evil. After the ten years he slept with his fathers and was buried with them.

Pekahiah

709 BCE

Then when Menahem died Pekahiah reigned in Israel for 2 years. He was also evil in the eye of the Lord. The people from Gilead put him to death in his own castle and they reigned in his place.

Hoshea

679 BCE

He was a bad king who reigned in Israel. He reigned for 9 years before he was captured from Assyria. He sent a message to egypt but egypt did not want it and came and took him and killed all over Israel and destroyed everything from Israel. But later the Assyrians were punished and their sons and daughters would be burnt offering.

Uzziah

Period: 679 BCE to 639 BCE

He was 16 years old when he started reigning. He reigned for 52 years in Judah. And not like the others he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord.

Uzziah's pride

645 BCE

His fame spread through the power of the Lord and everyone heard about him as his strength grew. But like every other king when his power grew so did his pride. He forgot about the Lord their God. The Priests say not to then he gets angry and right as he got angry leperosy grew on his face and then spread everywhere.

Jotham

Period: 639 BCE to 626 BCE

He reigned for 16 years in Jerusalem. He was a good king and he did was was right in the eyes of the Lord. When he had passed his son Ahaz reigned in his place. He was the only king that nothing was said bad about him.

Pekah

617 BCE

He is the son of Remaliah, who reigned for 20 years. His kingdom was in Israel. He was a very evil king in the sight of the Lord. Hoshea son of Elah made up stories about him and then began to strike him down and kills him.

Ahaz

610 BCE

This Ahaz was the son of Jotham. He reigned in Judah for 16 years. He was a bad king and did what was bad in the sight of God. Pekah and him reign at the same time.

Hezekiah

Period: 609 BCE to 582 BCE

He started reigned when he was 25. He reigned for 29 years. He was a good king to start with. He reigned in Judah. His son is Manasseh.

Hezekiah Passover

608 BCE

He wanted to start all over because everyone was sinning. They needed to push the passover. He sacrificed a lot.

Hezekiah and the Assyrians

601 BCE

Hezekiah journals all the time and they found it years later on. The Assyrians send a message to them. He said to them if you just surrender we'll give you a good and full life. Everyone is freaking out but Hezekiah is said that everything is going to be ok.

Hezekiah's Sickness

598 BCE

Isaiah came up to him and said he's going to die from this sickness. He turns his face to the all and cries out to God. God changes his mind and tells Isaiah to go to Hezekiah to tell him he will live. God gives him a sign by making the sun go back 10 hours.

Hezekiah and Babylon

597 BCE

The babylon's noticed the sun and went to him saying we heard you did this... how? Hezekiah did the wrong thing with them and God says that Babylon will capture all of Israel when he is gone. And his response is oh, ok, oh well at least it doesn't happen to me.

Manasseh

Period: 582 BCE to 527 BCE

Manasseh was a king from Judah. He was 12 when he began to reign so he was a young king. He reigned for 55 years. He was an evil king according to God. He was the worst one that ever reigned through Judah or Israel. When he was captured he repented and humbled himself. He was released and went back to Judah and tore down altars and his last few years of his reign he did good.

Amon

Period: 527 BCE to 525 BCE

Amon was a very bad king. He reigned in Judah for only 2 years. He was 22 years old when he started to reign. He followed what his father did and all the evilness. He was so bad that they had his son, Josiah, reign in his place. Manasseh is his father.

Josiah

Period: 525 BCE to 494 BCE

Josiah was a very good king. He was only 8 when he started to reign. He was led through the footsteps of David and God. He reigned for 31 years.

What Josiah Does During his Reign

509 BCE

In his 8th year of reign he seeked after God and led the people of Judah to goodness. In the 12 year of his reign he took down all the metal idols and evil things. In his 18th year he cleansed the land for the good.

Josiah's Death

494 BCE

He was to talk to the king of Egypt and he had a plan. He did not turn from God but disguised himself so that he could fight with him. The plan did not work and the king had his archers shoot Josiah. He is badly wounded and died and laid with his fathers

Jehoahaz

493 BCE

He was the son of Josiah. he was 23 years old when he started to reign. He reigned for 3 months in Judah. He was a bad king.

Jeoiakim

Period: 493 BCE to 482

He was 25 years old when he started to reign. he reigned for 11 years. He was against God and was a bad king.

Jehoiachin

482 BCE

He was a bad king and started to reign when he was 18. he also reigned for about 3 months. He was Jehoiakim's son and his brother was Zedekiah

Zedekiah

Period: 481 BCE to 470 BCE

He was 21 when he first started to reign. he was an evil king. He reigned for 11 years in Judah. He would not humble himself before the Lord.
