Eli was Samuels "guardian" in the temple. Eli died because his sons took the ark of the covenant into battle against the Philistines, he was so mad and surprised he fell over and broke his neck.

Samuel's Birth

Samuel was Hannah's son. He was dedicated to God because Eli blessed Hannah with a child.

David falls in lovewith Saul's daughter. Saul gives them a blessing do they get married. Then Saul takes Micah away and makes her mary someone else.

Saul was anointed King by the Prophet Samuel

Saul was looking for his fathers donkeys with his servants, when Samuel came up to him and anointed him king. The Israelites wanted to be like the other nations so they asked God for a king. God let them. Saul was a tall, dark, and handsome man. He was a good king at first but then he became proud. Reigned 40 years.

David defeats Galieth

David was coming to give his older brothers food. Goliath was 9 feet tall. The Israelite army needed a volunteer to fight the giant. David volunteered because he said God was with him. David used a sling and hit Goliath between his eyes and then cut off his head.

David Anointed King

1024 BCE

David was anointed king by Samuel because Saul was disobeying God's commands. Reigned 40 years.

Saul's Lifespan

Saul becomes Jealous (Jonathan protects David)

1018 BCE

After David had been winning so much in battle, Saul was becoming jealous of him. So jealous one day while David was playing the harp Saul shot an arrow at him. So David fled for his life. Jonathan was helping to protect him. David vowed never to kill anyone in their family.

David Builds an Army

David builds an army called his "might men". They were all outlaws, depressed, and poor.

David and Jonathan become friends

David was playing his harp fro Saul in the palace, and Jonathan (Saul's son) became best friends. Jonathan was older than him so it was more a mentouring realasionship.

David Spares Saul

David was in hiding from Saul. When one day he notice while watching Saul he was unguarded. He went into the cave Saul was in, while he was sleeping and cut the corner of his robe off. He had the opportunity to kill him but he made a vow with Jonathan that he would kill anyone in their family.

David and Beersheba

David asked Beersheba to come over to his house. Beersheba's husband was one of the mighty men in war. They slept together and a few months later she found out she was pregnant. To cover up his sin he made her husband come home. Then when he left he commanded him to be in the front of the army and leave him alone so he will die. He died.

Absalom Rebellion

He wanted to be king so he killed the king, Amon

David was on his death bed, so his son Solomon was crowned king. David promised Solomon would be king. Solomon was chosen to be king over Abishag. Reigned 40 years.

Solomon asks God for Wisdom

God comes to Solomon and asks him if he could have anything what would he want. Solomon asked for wisdom. Solomon gets blessed with a discerning and clear mind.

David was going to die soon and he wanted his enemy to be dead for his son, while he was king.

David's Last Advice

“And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve him with a whole heart and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches all hearts and understands every plan and thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever. 10 Be careful now, for the Lord has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary; be strong and do it.” (1 Chronicles 28:9-10)

Solomon's sin

962 BCE

The first thing Solomon does when he becomes king is sin against God. His wisdom didn't stop him from sinning. The 3 things they weren't supposed to do is get an army, have many wives, and lots of riches. He had 700 wives and 300 concubines. The 700 wives were princesses. He also married other women from other tribes.

Solomon builds the Temple

959 BCE

He builds the temple with lots of his money. He makes his palace have lots of gold in it. 180,000 people worked with wood and stones. He used cedar, gold, stone, and bronze the most.

Solomon solves problems

958 BCE

There were two women who thought the same baby was theirs and they were fighting. They were prostitutes. So they came to Solomon, and to solve the problem he said lets cut the baby in half. The women who's child it wasn't said yes, and the women who's child it was she cried out saying no. At that point Solomon knew who was the rightful mother.

The Temple Dedication

958 BCE

When the temple was finished being built Solomon did a prayer of dedication and the Lord's presence was with them. Dwelling there. It was made for God's presence to dwell forever. He wanted this "house" to be a house of prayer. He wanted God to hear them when they pray. Solomon sacrifices tons of animals to God at the dedication.

God Appears to Solomon

957 BCE

God appears to Solomon for the second time. He gives him a choice with how he will reign. If he follows God he will be blessed, and if he follows other God's the temple will be destroyed.

Solomon's Wealth

954 BCE

Solomon becomes very wealthy. He has 12 people in charged of the meals. They used 3,300 liters of flour, 10 fat oxen, 6,600 corn meal, 20 pasture fed catalo, 100 sheep, deer and gazelle and more for one day. Solomon had 40,00 stalls of horses for his chariots and 12,000 horsemen. The weight of gold Solomon gets a year is 49,950 pounds. About $1,161,287,550 a year. 46 trillion dollars in his whole reign. Silver meant nothing to him. He had lions by his side.

The Queen of Sheba comes to Solomon

950 BCE

The Queen of Sheba came to Solomon to test him, to see if he was as wise as she had heard. He answered all of her questions and was speechless when finished. She gives him 12 trillion dollars and different spices as a gift.

Solomon turns to other gods

940 BCE

Solomon married 700 wives and 300 concubines. One god he worshipped was Ashtroeth. This god was one of the worst god but not the worst. The one god that is worse than Ashtroeth is Milcom. Milcom was a god that the body was a human the head was a bull. Its very tall. They would place babies from 1-3 in the hands of the idol and it would roast them alive. This idol was made of gold. The parents put their child in the idols hands. There was music playing while a child was dying.

God appears to Solomon

God comes to Solomon because he has sinned. God sent two men to defeat them, and God takes his blessing away. Solomon cannot defeat them.

Ahijah

938 BCE

He had a message for Jerhobaom. He tour Jeroboams robe in 12 pieces. Because there are 12 tribes.

Jeroboam

935 BCE

Son of Nabad. The servant of Solomon. He was a good servant. He was in charge of the tribe of Joseph. Ahijah tour Jeroboams robe in twelve. He said Jeroboam will have access to 10 tribes and Solomon will have 1. Fled to Egypt because Solomon wanted to kill him. He was King of Israel. Reigned 22 years.

Rehoboam

931 BCE

Rehoboam reigned 13 years. Rehoboam became king after his father, Solomon. The king of Judah. Reigned 17 years. He didn't go into battle against the Israelites. He listened to the prophet b/c he said not to go into battle. He didn't believe that the Israelites weren't going to fight so he built cities in Judah. Then the Levites leave Israel and move back to Judah, to Rehoboam. They left Jeroboam. He had 18 wives and 60 concubines. 28 sons 60 daut. His favorite wife was his first cousin.

The Kingdom Split

The kingdom split. The 2 Kings disogreed so they split the kingdom.

Rehoboam's Revolt

929 BCE

The people told Rehoboam if he doesn't do what they want they won't respect him. Jeroboam returned b/c he heard Rehoboam was king. They wanted the taxes lowered. Rehoboam asked his council but he didn't listen to them. He waited 3 days then he decided to punish them with scorpion's. Solomon his father punished them with whips but he used scorpion's. Rehoboam was anointed at Shecom.

Jeroboam's Idols

928 BCE

Jeroboam was Solomon's servant. Jeroboam gathered 180,000 men from the tribe of Benjamin. He made idols, golden calf's he put the on the North side and the South side of Israel, so everyone would worship. God was mad at Jeroboam so he punished him. This turned the heats of the Israelites away from God. Jeroboam's idols is the cause of Israel's fall against God.

Rehoboam's Battle Against the Egyptians

925 BCE

They were going to fight against the Egyptians, Shimak. They abandoned the law of the Lord. They lost the battle. The treasure of the Lord, the treasure of the temple. Rehoboam's people repented, not Rehoboam, but he was still a bad king. He reigned 17 years.

Jeroboam's Fall with the Golden Calf

924 BCE

A man of God came to him, a prophet. The man of God told Jeroboam the idols would be destroyed and the prophets would be killed on it. Because Jeroboam was worshipping an idol his hand got shriveled up.He was worshipping an idol at the time he came. Jeroboam tried to seize him but he didn't listen. He asked the prophet to come to his palace but he said he would even if he gave him t his palace. He refused b/c God told him not to go.

Abijah King of Judah

915 BCE

Abijah was the king of Judah. In Jeroboams 18th year of his reign Abijah started reigning over Judah. Abijam and Abijah are the same person. He was an evil king, he worshipped idols.

Asa King of Judah

911 BCE

Asa reigned in Judah He was a very good king, he tour down all idols. He did what was right in God's eyes. Asa's grandmother was a witch. He had to take her out of power. Asa's first mistake was he went to Syria and asks for their help to attack Israel. God is not pleased, and He sends a prophet. Then Asa got punished. He put himself in prison. Asa had a serious disease in his feet and died. King of Israel.

Jeroboam's son gets sick

909 BCE

Jeroboam sent his descised wife to Ahijah so he would prophesie to know he would be king. Jeroboam was not a good king like his father David. Ahijah profised Jeroboam's son would be sick when his wife stepped into her house. Jeroboam was 41 when he started to reign. Ahijah was blind.

Nadab

907 BCE

Nadab only reigns 2 years and he is an evil king. He was the son of Jeroboam. King of Israel.

Elijah

Period: 904 BCE to 850 BCE

Reigned 54 years as a prophet.

King Baasha

900 BCE

Baasha was an evil he reigned 24 years. God told him and his entire family would die. Anyone who belonged to Baasha who died and was not burried would be eaten by dogs. King of Israel.

Elijah and the Widow

880 BCE

This took place in a drought. Elijah was in a desert and he saw a widow and asked her for water and bread. She did what he asked so he blessed her and she didn't run out of flour and oil. He son died the Elijah raised her son from the dead.

King Elah

876 BCE

Elah was the son of Baasha. Elah was murdered by Zimiri. Zimiri killed all the desendants of Baasha. He began to reign when Asa was on his 26 year. Reigned in Israel. He was a bad king.

King Zimiri

874 BCE

Zimiri was the king of Israel. He reigned 7 days. He did what was evil in the sight if the Lord.

King Omiri

874 BCE

King Omri reigned in Israel. He did what was evil in the sight of God. He ruled over half of Israel and the other half was ruled by Tibni.

Jehoshaphat's reign

Period: 870 BCE to 845 BCE

He reigned 25 years. He was a good king. He was the son of Asa. He reigned in Judah.

Ahaziah

Period: 862 BCE to 859 BCE

The son of Ahab. Reigned to years over Israel. He was a bad king. He had false gods. He sent 50 men to kill Elijah 3 times and they all got swallowed by fire.

Ahab takes Naboth's vineyard

860 BCE

Ahab was in his house when he saw a nice vineyard. So he went to Naboth the owner of the vineyard and asked him if he could have it or buy another one for him, but he declined. He wouldn't give it away. He wanted to keep it in his family. So Ahab went back to his house and pouted in his bed. He wouldn't eat and wouldn't talk to anyone. So his wife Jezebel came to him and she said she would solve his problem. So she made orders to stone Naboth. Then Elijah punished Ahab. Ahab's son got punished.

Ahab goes to War Against Syria

Ben-hadad king of Syria fought against Samaria.

Jehoshaphat in Battle

850 BCE

They had war against the Ammonites, the Moabites, and the Mennonites. They sang songs to the Lord and they won the war.

Jerhoram King of Judah

849 BCE

He started worshipping false gods and idols. Then he got a curse from God and his intestines became his outsides. He reigned 7 years. ended in 841

Ahab's Reign

Period: 842 BCE to 819 BCE

When he began two reign. He reign over Israel. Reigned 22 years.

Jehu kills the prophets of Baal

841 BCE

He tells everyone he is going to worship Baal way more than the other kings, he called all the worshippers of Baal to the temple. Then he told all the worshippers of God to get out. Then he killed all the false worshippers and he destroys the temple.

Jehu

Period: 841 BCE to 814 BCE

Jehu was the king of Israel. He was a good king, but he did bad things. He killed lots of people, the prophets of Baal, the dependents of Ahab, he kills Joram and Ahaziah. He reigned 28 years.

Queen Athaliah

Period: 841 BCE to 835 BCE

She was a bad king. She reigned in Judah for 7 years. Her son died so she killed the whole royal family. She was the daughter of Ahab and Jezebel.

Joash

Period: 835 BCE to 795 BCE

Joash was the king of Judah. He was hiding for 7 years because Athaliah was queen. He reigned 40 years. He was murdered by his servants after he killed Zechariah.

Elisha and the Fiery Chariots (the battle against Syria)

830 BCE

The whole Syrian army was going after Elisha. They were mad at him. Elisha and his servant were surrounded by the Syrian army. Elisha knew they were going to win but his servant was scared. Elisha said "open the eyes of my servant." Then his servant could see the chariots from Heaven. God blinded the entire army. Elisha led them away and fed them supper, then sent them home.

The 4 Lepers' outside the city

827 BCE

It was the middle of a famine and people were paying huge prices for donkey heads, bird poop, and eating their children. The king was mad at Elisha b/c he could have conquered the Syrians. There were 4 leper's that went to the Syrians camp to get food and Elisha said it would cost one shekel for 8 liters of fine flour. The prophecy came true and the people got food.

Hazel murders Ben-Hadad

825 BCE

Ben-Hadad has becomes sick, the king of Syria. Hazel is one of Ben-Hadad's commanders and goes to Elisha to see if Ben-Hadad will live or die. Elisha tells Hazel he will die but tell him he will live. Then Elisha begins to cry b/c Hazel will become king and will be very bad. Thwn Hazel goes home and tells Ben-Hadad he will live. Then Hazel gets a piece of sack cloth and makes it wet and suffocates Ben-Hadad.

Jehoahaz King of Israel

Period: 814 BCE to 797 BCE

Jehoahaz was a bad king he reigned for 17 years. The people escaped him but they still worshipped false gods. They wee losing to the Syrians lost lots of the army. under 11,000. He was the son of Jehu

Joash Murders Zechariah

795 BCE

Zechariah was Joash's first cousin/adopted brother. Joahs started worshipping false gods so to help him they sent Zechariah. He was the son of the high priest. Joash killed him in the temple.

Jehoash king of Israel

Period: 794 BCE to 778 BCE

The son of Jehoahaz. Reigned 16 years. He was an evil king. Through his whole reign he is at war with the Syrians. He goes to visit Elisha to ask for a miracle then Elisha tells Johash to shoot an arrow out his window. Then he told him to strike the remaining arrows against the ground. SInce he only struck the ground a few times you will win the next 3 battles then loose again. If he would have struck it 6 or 7 times the Syrians would never be a problem again. Then Elisha dies.loses lots of city

Amaziah king of Judah

Period: 768 BCE to 739 BCE

He reigned 29 years. He was a good king. The son of Joash. He kills the people who killed his dad. He was going to fight against Edom and he has Israel to help him, but a prophet comes to him and says if they come they will lose, he listens.God rewards them. After the battle was over he started worshipping the Edomite gods. The prophet said God will destroy him for this. Then he fights Israel and loses then they take the treasure he had taken from the Edomites. idols He was exacted. 1/2 good/bad

He was a good prophet.

Uzziah Reigning in Judah

Period: 760 BCE to 708 BCE

Uzziah became king when he was 16. He did what was right in the Lord's eyes. He did one sin though, he became proudful. He burnt incense in the temple, which only priests were supposed to do and became a lepro for the rest of his life.

Ahaz

Period: 755 BCE to 715 BCE

Ahaz was 20 years old when he became king. He was a bad king. He walked in the ways of the other kings of Israel.

Hezekiah reigning in Judah

Period: 741 BCE to 686 BCE

He was a good king. He did one bad sin he became prideful and brought the Babylonians into the temple and didn't give the glory to Isaiah the prophet. He reigned 29 years.

Ahaz reigns in Judah

Period: 738 BCE to 765 BCE

In the 17th year of Pekah's reign he began to reign. He was a bad king. He walked in the way of the kings of Israel. He worshipped false idols and his punishment for that was he was taken as a slave to Damascus, and they lost was against Syria, Assyria, And Israel. He was the son of Jotham. His greatest din was idolatry, he sacrificed his son. Israel takes captives and they send them back with food, clothing, and spoil. Then Ahaz moves the altar to the side of his house, makes it for sorcery.

Zechariah king of Israel

He was a bad king. He reigned 6 months. He started reigning in the 38th year of Azariah king of Judah.

Jeroboam the second king of Israel

Period: 737 BCE to 726 BCE

He became king on the 15th year of of Amaziah's reign. He reigned 41 years. He was a bad king.

Menahem king of Israel

Period: 735 BCE to 725 BCE

He overthrows Shallum. He reigns 10 years. He was a bad king. He reigned in Israel.

Shallum King of Israel

734 BCE

Shallum was the son of Jabesh. He reigned on on the 39th year of Uzziah's reign. He reigned 1 month. He was a bad king.

Hoshea king of Israel

Period: 734 BCE to 725 BCE

He was an evil king. He reigned 9 years. Assyria conquered Israel and took the people and separated them. If they spoke the same language they would separated languages. Some were slaves. They put a metal piece through their nose and dragged them by that. The worst violence recorded in the Bible. Capital city Niniav where Jonna was sent.

Pekahiah King of Israel

Period: 724 BCE to 722 BCE

In the 15th year of Azariah's reign he began to reign in Israel. He was the son of Menahem. He reigned 2 years and was a bad king. He worshipped idols.

Jotham Reigns in Judah

Period: 709 BCE to 693 BCE

He reigned 16 years. He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. He is the only king that has nothing said bad about him. He did all that his father did except he never went into the temple.

Manasseh king of Judah

Period: 709 BCE to 642 BCE

Manasseh was a bad king, he became king when he was 12. He worshipped every idol he could find. He sacrificed his children. He put false idols into the temple. He did more evil than any other king before him, in Judah and Israel. God brought disaster and wiped out Jerusalem, because they provoked God to anger. He had witchcraft, and worshipped Ashera. He worshipped man cult prostitutes. (demon worshipping) He reigned 55 years, longest reigning. He was violent. He humbled himself, God was moved.

Amon Reigns in Judah

Period: 665 BCE to 641 BCE

Amon was Manasseh's son. He did what was evil in God's eyes. He did not humble himself like his father. His own servants kill him because he was so evil. He reigned 2 years.

Josiah reigned in Judah

Period: 649 BCE to 609 BCE

He was 8 years old when he became king. he did what was right in God's eyes. He walked in the ways of David. He reigned 31 years.

Josiah seeking God in his 12th year

629 BCE

Josiah in his 12th year of his reign, when he was 16 began to seek God. He tour down the idols, and made them into pourder. He also destroyed Israel's idols. He destroyed the golden calfs and dug up the prophets bones and burnt it with the golden calfs.

Josiah In his 18th year Reigning

622 BCE

He found a scroll and realized he wasn't following it. Josiah gets a message from God and his response was he gathered all the people and reads up to Deuteronomy. Then he makes a covenant with God to worship him. He celebrates the Passover. There was not a Passover like this since the days of Samuel. 37,600 lambs and goats and 3,800 bulls. There was so much blood it flode out from the temple to the city. no king that repented like him. He shouldn't have gone into battle and dies, thats his sin.

Jehoahaz king

609 BCE

Jehoahaz was 23 when he became king. He was Josiah's son. He reigned 3 months. He was a bad king. The king of Egypt killed him.

Jehoiakim reigning in Judah

Period: 609 BCE to 598 BCE

Jehoiakim was 25 years when he became king. He reigned 11 years. He was a bad king. Jehoiachin reigned in his place, he was his son.

Jehoiachin Reigning in Judah

598 BCE

He became king when he was 18. He reigned 3 months and 10 days. He was a bad king. He died in prison, as a slave He was captured by the Babylonians.

Gedaliah Reigning

Gedaliah reigned 7 months. He served Babylon and did whatever they said. His servants, some of the Jews kill him. He was Jeramiah's friend. He was a good king.

Zedekiah reigning in Judah

He was 21 when he became king. He reigned 11 years. He was a bad king. He rebelled against Nebuchnezzar. (Babylon) Babylon conquers Judah 5 times. And the 5th time Judah was destroyed!
