Samson Dies

1079 BCE

Samson was caught by the Philistines, and had his eyes gauged out. Then he was taken out to the pillars, and he commited suicide and killed others with him. It says he killed more this day than in all his life.

Saul Crowned King

1055 BCE

At this point, Samuel annointed Saul as king. Saul did not feel worthy, but he was chosen by the Lord. And so, Saul became king, and was a great king, in the begining.

Jonathan is born

1050 BCE

Jonathan was born. His dad, Saul, was king at this point. I dont know how i would like being the son of a king.

Jonathan and Armorbearer attack

1042 BCE

Jonathan sees the Philistines, so he goes to attack them. He is very smart about his stratigies, and also prays. He kills about 20 Philistines

David's Birth

1042 BCE

David is born into the household of Jesse. His family is just a normal farm family, or so they thought. Little did they know that he would become a king and that Christ would come through his lineage.

David is anointed to be the next king

1029 BCE

At this point, Samuel comes to anoint a boy to become king. And no one expects the little boy out sheperding to be the one. But he is. Also in this year, is the Rejection of Saul.

David plays his harp for Saul

1026 BCE

Saul is in great pain due to a demon. They try a lot of stuff to try and get him to calm down, but nothing is working. They then call David, not knowing he is gonna be the next king, and David plays his harp for Saul. At last, Saul is at peace

David and Goliath

1025 BCE

The Philistine giant, Goliath, is temping people to fight him, but no one will. Then David goes and fights him with a sling. Not only was he not using a sword, but he had no armor! He struck down Goliath and cut off his head.

Saul's hatred against David begins

1024 BCE

David plays the harp for Sual. In the beggining, Saul really likes David in the begining. But then he relizes that David could take over the kingdom, so he tries to kill David, multiple times!

Saul goes to witch

1010 BCE

Saul wants to talk to Samuel, the only problem is that he is dead. So Saul keeps praying to God about it, but God doesnt answer him. So instead of being pacient, he goes to a witch, and she brings back his spirit.

Saul Dies

1005 BCE

At this point, he knew that they would not win the battle. He knew that the odds were against him and that he would get caught. So instead of being caught, he commited suicide, because his armorbearer wouldn't stab him.

David becomes king!

1005 BCE

At this point, Saul is dead. And since samuel anointed David next king, David becomes king. And just like it did Saul, and crown causes some faults from David.

David makes plans for the temple.

997 BCE

David really wants to make a "house" for the Lord. He creates plans and a layout of it, which is full of symbolism. God tells him that he shouln's build it because of the blood he has shed, and that his son should build it.

David and Bathsheba

992 BCE

David is out on his roof one day, and sees this lady on her roof bathing. He likes she, and since her husband is a mighty man out at war, David invites her to come and stay the night. She later becomes pregnant, so David kills Uriah.

David's Child dies from adualtery.

990 BCE

Bathsheba gives birth to their son, who was concieved because of adaultery. God says that because of their sin, the boy will die. So the boy dies, but they concieve again and she gives birth.

Solomon's Birth

989 BCE

Unfortunatley, David's first child dies because of his adualtery. Now, there child is born, and this child is Solomon. Later he becomes king and reins for 40 years like David.

Solomon is crowned king!

972 BCE

At this point, David is not dead, but Adonijah wants to become king before Solomon. David does not want this to happen, so David crowns Solomon king, before David dies. And so, Adonijah does not become king, and Solomon becomes one of the wisest people, ever!

David Dies

970 BCE

During his life, he had done more than enough. I would consider him to be one of the best kings. But after his 70 years of life, it was his time to go. Some of his last words to Solomon were to have Joab and Shimei killed. Even though he said he wouldn't, Solomon kills Adonijah.

Solomon Becomes king!

970 BCE

After David dies, Solomon becomes king! Solomon was anointed before David's death, but only at this point did he ACTUALLY become king. It wasnt long before he started working on the House of the Lord, as David had comanded him to do.

Solomon asks for wisdom

967 BCE

God asks Solomon what he wants. He says he wants wisdom to rule the people. God is happy with this, so he also gives Solomon riches, honor, long life, and peace.

Solomon Builds the House of the Lord

965 BCE

Solomon makes a house for the Lord, because David wasnt allowed because of the blood he shed. This was a very elaborate place, full of gold and bronze and different types of wood. King Hiram came and helped Solomon with this temple.

King Hiram

965 BCE

King Hiram helps Solomon with the Lord's house. He gave Solomon a great deal of valuable stuff. He was the king of Tyre, which was a very wealthy place.

Solomon's Fall

951 BCE

Solomon started out being a strong man of God, but then it all went south. He took 700 women to be his wives, and started worshiping their gods. This type of worshiping included horible things.

Queen of Sheba Visits Solomon

945 BCE

The queen of Sheba comes to Solomon and brings gifts. When she gets there, Solomon shows her the kingdom and his wisdom. She is so shocked by all this, it says that "there was no more breath in her."

Solomon's death

931 BCE

Solomon died in 931 BC, due to natural causes. He started as a very holy and right man, then he turned to the ways of evil. His son would later have the kingdom ripped from him.

Two golden calves

928 BCE

Jeroboam was scared that people would turn to the other kingdom. He decided that the best option would be to create two golden calves "to the Lord." So he put one in the North and one in the South so people could go and worship them and had no excuse to why they couldn't.

Rehoboam (Judah)

Period: 928 BCE to 911 BCE

Rehoboam becomes the king of Judah. The people asked him to show them kindness, so he went to the elders. The elders gave him advise, but he didnt listen to them. Insead, he went to the younger men he grew up with, and they said to tell the people he will be harsher than his father. So, he tells the people he will be harsher and instead of whipping them with whips, he will whip them with scorpians. He regined for 17 years.

Jeroboam (Israel)

Period: 928 BCE to 906 BCE

Jeroboam was the king of the other 10 tribes. Jeroboam was probably a better king compared to Rehoboam. Jeroboam was there when the people asked Rehoboam to lighten up the work load, compared to Solomon. He reigned over Isreal for 22 years.

The kingdoms split

927 BCE

Israel is not happy with what Rehoboam said about being harsh, so the kingdom splits up. Rehoboam took Judah and the makority of the tribe of Benjamin. Jeroboam go the other ten tribes.

Abijah/Abijam (Judah)

Period: 911 BCE to 908 BCE

King of Judah. Abijah did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. His father was Rehobaom. His son is Baasha. Reigned only 3 years.
Did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, but tries to boast to another people group about the fact that they have the Levites and stuff. This is not a very good boast because he did what was evil in the sight of the Lord.

Asa (Judah)

Period: 908 BCE to 867 BCE

Asa was king of Judah. He did what was right in the sight of the Lord. Reigned 41 years. He was diseased in his feet.

Nadab (Israel)

Period: 906 BCE to 904 BCE

Nadab was king of Israel. His father was Jeroboam, the exking. He reigned for only 2 years before being murdered by Baasha. He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord.

Baasha (Israel)

Period: 904 BCE to 880 BCE

Baasha reinged over all of Isreal for 24 years. He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. He was the son of Ahijah.

Asa goes to war

903 BCE

Asa goes to war against Ethiopia. Asa has about 500,000 men in his army. The Ethiopians have over 1,000,000 men in their army! Asa's people get the tressures from the Ethiopians

Asa's God/ destroying idols

898 BCE

Only when the people were in destress would they turn to the Lord God. Asa put away all the false idols. People come down from Israel just because they want him as king. Asa made a hude sacrifice to the one and only true God. Asa removed his grandmother from having power and destroyed her idols. He did not tear down all the high places, but served the Lord all his life.

Asa's bribe/sickness

897 BCE

Bribes Ben-hadad, king of Syria, to break the covenant they had with Baasha, king of Idrael. While Ben-hadad and Baasha are having war, Asa moves a the border of Baasha to Judah. Because of this, God said he would have war all the rest of his reign. He gets sick and doesnt go to God, so he dies.

Elah (Israel)

Period: 880 BCE to 878 BCE

Reigned over Isreal for 2 years. He is killed by Zimri, the comander of his chariots. He is the son of Baasha. He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord.

Zimri (Israel)

878 BCE

Destroyes/kills all the house of Baasha. Rieged only 7 days. Did what was evil in the sight of the Lord.

Omri (Israel)

Period: 878 BCE to 866 BCE

Reigned 12 years over Isreal, 6 years of those in Tirzah. Did more evil than all that were before him. Very adualterous and harsh man.

Elijah at the brook of Cherith

872 BCE

Elijah sits by the brook and gets water from it for the first 2 years of the drought. The ravens of the air bring and feed Elijah bread. The ravens also brought him meat.

Elijah and the women

872 BCE

The brook he was sitting at dries up, so God tells him to go to a widow in the village of Zarephath. Elijah goes to the widow and asks her to go and get him water. He also asks her to give him bread, but she says she has very little flour and oil, and she wanted to make one more meal before her and her son die. Then the famous story of the never ending flour and oil happens.

Elijah and the rain

868 BCE

Elijah meets with the prophets of Baal and challenges him. The challenge is that the real God/god will burn up their altar. The prophetes of Baal ask Baal all day to burn up the altar, but it never happens. But Elijah prays to God 7 times, and the altar of God is burned up with everything around it.

The Mountian of God

868 BCE

Jezebel threatens Elijah with death. He escapes and flees to the desert, and asks God to kill him. He then falls asleep, and an angel comes and bakes him cake and gives him water. Because of the two meals he ate, he didnt eat or drink for 40 days and 40 night, and he just walked the whole time. Then he came to a cave and lives in it. God talks to him and tells him to go and anoint three guys. One of these is Elisha, the prophet that will take Elijah's place. Elisha is now Elijah's assistant.

Jehosaphat's Reign (Judah)

Period: 867 BCE to 842 BCE

Jehosaphat was the king of Judah. He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, because he followed in the ways of his fathe, Asa. Asa was a great influence on him and would have been a great rule model. He reigned for 25 years.

Ahab (Israel)

Period: 866 BCE to 844 BCE

Reigned over Israel for 22 years. Son of Omri, and did more evil than his father. Marries Jezebel, the profetist of Baal. Dies by comitting suicide by burning the palace down on top of himself.

Ahab's war

863 BCE

Ben-hadad is outside Ahab's city. He sends to Ahab and says "Give me your wives and your gold and silver and kids." Ahab agrees. When Ben-hadad hears this, he asks for more from him. Ahab disagres though. Then they go into battle and the Israelites win. When Ben-hadad relizes that they lost, he makes up dumb excuses. They come back for a second battle, and the Israelites are MAJORLY out numbered. Even though they are really out numbered, the Israelities "spank" them. The Israelites kill 100,000

Naboth's Vineyard

860 BCE

Ahab wants his neighbor's vinyard, his neighbor is Naboth. He goes home and pouts and cries and pitys himself. Then Jezebel comes to him and says that she will get it for him. Then she gets people to lie about Naboth, and he gets stoned. Ahab then gets the vineyard, but Elijah apears to him and says he will die and be eaten by the dogs. Ahab then repents and God says all this stuff will still happen, but not while Ahab is still alive.

Jehoshaphat's Battle

860 BCE

Jehoshaphat is going to battle against the Ammonites. The Lord said that Jehoshaphat would win the battle, so he decided to doing something a little out of the ordinary, because he knew he wouldn't lose. The army of Judah and a chior are going to the battle, but Jehoshaphat makes the chior lead them into the battle. The chior is singing praises to God, and the Ammonites start killing themselves! They all killed each other, and not one was left, and this is how Judah won without having to fight.

Ahab's death

852 BCE

A prophet of God is called to prophiesy to see if they will win a war. The prophet of God says that if Ahab goes to war, he wont come back alive. While at war, Ahab gets sniped with an arrow and dies.

Elijah goes to heaven

850 BCE

As they are walking from town to town, Elijah keeps telling Elisha to stay while Elijah goes other places, but every time Elisha goes with him. Then, at the Jordan, Elijah strikes the water with his robe and it splits. Then on the other side, Elijah asks Elisha what he wants before Elijah goes, and Elisha says he wants to do double what Elijah did. Elijah is taken away from earth in a chariot of fire, and the horses are on fire! Then Elisha splits the water on his way back to the city.

Elisha and the salt

849 BCE

There was a really nice city, but it doesnt have a lot of good food and water. He then goes to a spring of water ad throws salt in it. Usually it would not make water better, but in this case, it does. And it becomes good water.

Elisha and the bears

849 BCE

Elisha is outside this town, and some teenagers make fun of his bald head. His head was probably bald because he was mourning that Elijah was gone. He then curses the boys and two bears come out of the woods and kill 49 of them

The Widow's oil

848 BCE

There is a poor widow, and she has nothing of value to sell. Elisha tells her to get a bunch of jars and fill them up with her oil. The issue is that she has very little oil, but the tiny oil holder fills all them up! It never runs out!

Elisha's miracle

848 BCE

The family that houses Elisha, have a son. This son one day gets sick and dies. Elisha raises their son from the dead, because he has the power of the Lord in him.

Elisha and Naaman

847 BCE

Naaman is the comander of the Syrain army, and he has leprosy. The king of Syria sends him over to the king of Israel to be healed, but the king cannot. Elisha then hears of this and has Naaman come to him to be healed. Naaman then offers to give him gifts because he healed him, but Elisha says he doesnt need them, Naaman can keep them. Gehazi wants those gifts though, so he chases after Naaman, lies to him, and takes some stuff to his house. Elisha then tells Gehazi that he will have leporacy.

The land restored

846 BCE

The Shunammite woman comes back from the land of the Philistines. When they get back, other people had moved onto their land! The Shunammite woman goes to the king, and at the exact same time, Gehazi is talking to the king. The woman then talks to the king, and he says to tell the people on her land to get off and that it was hers.

Elisha and the Fiery Chariots

846 BCE

The Syrain army goes to attack Israel, but Israel jumps out and scares them. They do this twice, so the king of Syria thinks there is a spy in their army. They then send the army to go kill Elisha, because he has the power of the Lord with him, so he can hear and know what the king is saying to his army. Elisha then asks the Lord to open his servents eyes, and his servent sees the Heavenly army all around them.

Ahaziah (Israel)

Period: 844 BCE to 842 BCE

Ahaziah became king of Israel after Ahab because he was his son, and reigned for 2 years. He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. During a battle, he fell off a roof and hurt himself. He then sends messengers to go sacrifice to a unholy god, so God punishes Ahaziah by making him not recover from his sickness and injury, and he died. This is also the story of Elijah bringing fire from heaven, because God was with him, and the fire consumed the army a 50, 3 different times.

Jehoram's Reign (Israel)

Period: 842 BCE to 830 BCE

He is king over Israel for 12 years. He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, but does not worship Baal. Jehoram calls Jehoshaphat, Judah, and Edom to help him fight against Moab. They are in the desert and have no water. They go to Elisha and since the spirit of the Lord was in him, God sent water, tons of water, all over the land. And, he gave the people victory over Moab. The king's son is then burnt alive as sacrifice to a god

Jehoram's reign (Judah)

Period: 842 BCE to 834 BCE

Jehoram, son of Jehoshaphat, reigned over Judah for 8 years. He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. He is married to Atholiah, the daughter of Ahab.

Ahaziah (Judah)

Period: 834 BCE to 833 BCE

Ahaziah becomes king over Judah after Jehoram. He is the son of Jehoram. He reigns for one year, and did what was evil in the sight of the Lord.

Athaliah (Judah)

Period: 833 BCE to 826 BCE

Athaliah is the wife of Jehoram, son of Jesoshaphat. She is the daughter of Ahab and Jezebel. She went and killed all the house of Jehoshaphat so that Jesus could not come through them. And so, Jesus comes through the lineage of Ahab! She reigned 7 years.

Jehu (Israel)

Period: 830 BCE to 802 BCE

A prophet goes to Jehu, the commander of the Israelite army, and tells him a prophecy. Jehu has good and bad things said about him. The prophet says that Jehu will become king of Israel and that he should kill all the house of Ahab.

Joash's Reign (Judah)

Period: 826 BCE to 786 BCE

He becomes king of Judah at age 7. Jehoiada is a high priest, who is also Joash's adopted dad, and his uncle. As long as Jehoiada is there to help Joash, Joash does what was right in the sight of the Lord. But when Jehoiada dies, he moves away from the Lord and starts worshiping idols. Joash loses a battle against the Syrians, so the princes kill him.

Jehu fulfilling killing Ahab's family

817 BCE

Jehu was a reckless driver. Jehu then shoots Ahaziah and Jehoram in the back during a battle, and they die. He then goes to the place where Jezebel is. And when he gets there, he has two servants throw Jezebel out the window, he then runs over her with a chariot, and she dies. He then goes on to make a temple to "Baal." He gets all the people who worship Baal to come, and once all the followers of God get out, he kills all the followers of Baal. I really like Jehu, he MIGHT be my favorite king!

Jehoahaz's Reign (Israel)

Period: 802 BCE to 785 BCE

Jehoahaz, son of Jehu, reigned over Israel for 17 years. He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord and followed in the ways of Jeroboam. He then sought favor from the Lord, for the Lord was giving them into the hand of Syria countinually. But he still did what was evil in the sight of the Lord.

Amaziah (Judah)

Period: 786 BCE to 757 BCE

Amaziah, son of Joash, reigned over Judah for 29 years. The first thing he did being king was killing the people who assassinated his father. He started his reign at 25 years old. He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord! But, he did not remove the high places. And the people still made offerings to false gods. And then he starts worshipping idols and starts loses battles.

Jehoash Reigns (Israel)

Period: 785 BCE to 769 BCE

Jehoash, son of Jehoahaz, reigned over Israel for 16 years. He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. And once he died, he was burried in Samaria, and Jeroboam reigned in his place.

Jeroboam II reigns (Israel)

Period: 769 BCE to 728 BCE

Jeroboam II reigned over Israel 41 years. His dad would be Johoash, the king of Israel. He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord and worshiped idols.

Isaiah

Period: 757 BCE to 644 BCE

Isaiah was a prophet from Judah. He was alive from the beginning of Uzziah's reign to the end of Manasseh's reign. He has a full book in the Old Testament. He is best known for prophesying the coming of Jesus to save us from our sins.

Uzziah's reign (Judah)

Period: 757 BCE to 705 BCE

Reigned after Amiziah. He was king over Judah. He reigned for 52 years and did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. His mother's name was Jecoliah of Jerusalam. He makes catuluts of the towers and makes awesome forts. Very smart guy, and does good overall to the land of Judah. He also defeated the Phlistines.

Uzziah's downfall

750 BCE

His down fall is being prideful. He thought he was all great, and he was, but him being prideful lead to a punishment. The punishment for this was leporacy, like, RIGHT away!

Hezekiah's Passover

738 BCE

Hezekiah wanted to restore the Passover, so he did. He has all the unclean things from the Temple removed and the priests cleanse themselves. He sacrificed MANY animals.

Hezekiah and the Assyrians

729 BCE

The Assyrians own a lot of land, but not Judah. They want it, so the king of Assyria offers the people two options. 1. Go else where where he will give them a vineyard and let him take control over the land. Or 2. be tortured. 90% left.

Shallum's reign (Israel)

728 BCE

Shallum conspired against Zechariah and killed him. He reigned in his place and reigned over Israel for 1 month. He also did what was evil in the sight of the Lord.

Hezekiahs prayer

728 BCE

The Assyrian king sends a message, and the messenger goes through the city reading the message. This message was talking bad about God and making fun of him. Then Hezekiah takes the scroll to the temple and tells the Lord, "Look what they are saying about you! What are you gonna do about it?"

Zechariah's reign (Israel)

728 BCE

Zechariah reigned over Israel for 6 months. He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. He came after king Jeroboam.

Menahem's reign (Israel)

Period: 728 BCE to 718 BCE

Menahem assassinated king Shallum and took his place as king. He reigned for 10 years in Isreal. He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. He also did something very wrong to a city.

Hezekiah's sickness

725 BCE

Hezekiah is sick, and Isaha comes to tell him he is going to die. When Hezekiah hears he doesn't know why God would do that to him because he has been faithful. God then changes his mind and tells him he is going to get better. He gives Hezekiah a sign, the one he asked for, and time went back 10 hours.

Hezekiah's Downfall

723 BCE

Hezekiah has some foreign guests come to his palace, and he gets a little carried away. He shows them all his riches, which is fine. But then, he takes his Babylonian friends into the temple, and it was previously said that Gentiles should NOT be in the temple till they have been Jews for at least 6 generations.

Pekahiah's reign (Israel)

Period: 718 BCE to 716 BCE

He reigns for 2 years in Isreal. He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. His father was Manahem. He was assassinated by his commander, Pekah.

Pekah's reign (Israel)

Period: 716 BCE to 696 BCE

Pekah kills king Pekahiah and becomes king. He is the son of Remaliah. He reigned 20 years in Israel. He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord.

Jotham's reign (Judah)

Period: 705 BCE to 689 BCE

He reigned over Judah for 16 years. his dad was Uzziah. He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. He built an upper gate to the house of the Lord and did much building on the wall of Ophel. His mother's name was Jerushah. He does what is right and follows God, but the people do not follow in the Lord's ways and continue to sin.

Hoshea's reign (Israel)

Period: 696 BCE to 687 BCE

Hoshea becomes king of Israel and reigns for 9 years. He was the son of Elah. He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. He became king by murdering Pekah. He became a servent to the king of Assyria who overtakes them, Shalmaneser. The Israelites then continued to sin and sacrificed their sons.

Ahaz's reign (Judah)

Period: 689 BCE to 673 BCE

Ahaz is the son of Jotham. He became king of Judah and reigned for 16 years. He did what was evil in the eyes of the Lord. He sacrificed his son and did despicable things.

Hezekiah's Reign (Judah)

Period: 673 BCE to 644 BCE

Hezekiah is 25 when he begins to reign, and he reigns for 29 years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Abijah, the daughter of Zechariah. He was a really good king and did what was RIGHT in the eyes of the Lord! He reigned in Judah

Manasseh (Judah)

Period: 644 BCE to 589 BCE

He is the worst king Judah has ever had. He reigns for 55 years. He did every wrong thing. He worshiped baal, used witches, and was a really bad person. He led Judah to become WORSE than all the peoples they conquered! They are FINALLY conquered by the Assyrians, where they sell him to Babylon to become a slave. Then he becomes distressed being a slave and he prays to God! God is moved by his change of heart. He is then released and goes back to Judah to become king and is a good king!

Amon

Period: 589 BCE to 587 BCE

He is the son of Manasseh. He is a bad king. He is assassinated by his servants. He reigns for 2 years

Josiah's reign (Judah)

Period: 587 BCE to 556 BCE

He is 8 years old when he begins to reign. He reigns for 31 years. He is a REALLY good king! He wants to follow God, and he does a really good job! He then goes undercover into a battle against the Egyptians and is shot in the back by archers and is then taken back to Jerusalem and dies.

Josiah's 8th year

579 BCE

Josiah wants to follow God and do what is right. He kills all the bad people in Judah. He also destroys all the carved images and says that they are going to follow God! He then goes on to take the evil things out of Israel!

Josiah's 18th year find

569 BCE

They are trying to rebuild the temple, and Hilkiah finds The Book of the Law! This has been "missing" for about 75 years, and its the first 5 books of the Old Testement. Hilkiah then takes it to Josiah and reads it to him. Josiah then rips his clothes. A little while later, he takes it to the house of the Lord and reads it to all the people there. He then holds a MASSIVE Passover, the largest ever recorded!

Jehoahaz's reign (Judah)

556 BCE

Jehoahaz is the son of Josiah, and reigns once his father dies. He becomes king at age 23, and he reigns for 3 months. He is a bad king and does what is evil in the sight of the Lord.

Jehoiakim's reign (Judah)

Period: 556 BCE to 545 BCE

Jehoiakim's real name was Eliakim, but it is then changed by the king of Egypt. The king of Egypt makes Jehoiakim, Jehoahaz's brother, king. He is another bad king. He is 25 when he starts reigning, and he reigns for 11 years. Taken prisoner by Babylon

Jehoiachin's reign (Judah)

545 BCE
