    It closed down colonial expansion westward beyond the Appalachia. It was the first measure to affect all 13 colonies

    Stamp Acts
    1st internal tax was levied directly on American colonists by the British Parliament. Imposed a tax on all paper documents in the colonies, and it was used as a source of revenue for Britain.
