After the end of the First World War, Germany had to agree to a series of harsh agreements such as hefty reparations, the War guilt clause, and losing much of their imperial territory. This would be the cause of many of Germany's economic and political hardships in the future and would cause resentment among the German people. -

Washington Naval Conference
An international conference called together by the United States to address Naval Disarmament. This conference birthed the Five-Power treaty, Four-Power treaty, and the Nine-Power treaty. This conference prevented an arms race between the US, Britain, and Japan by limited the number and size of battleships. -
Genoa Conference
The Genoa conference was a failed conference meant to address German reparations. Due to France's unwillingness to cooperate, the conference would ultimately fail as Germany would leave the discussions and come to an agreement with Russia which violated the treaty of Versailles and cause any discussions of the conference to fall apart. -
Rapallo Pact
The Pact was an agreement between Germany and Russia that stemmed from the failing Genoa conference. After Germany left the discussions due to France's unwilling to cooperate, Germany and Russia would make a secret agreement in which Germany could train soldiers on Soviet grounds which violated the Paris Peace Settlement. -
Ruhr Crisis
Due to France's dissatisfaction with Germany's inability to pay reparations, French and Belgian forces would forcefully occupy the Ruhr. The Ruhr was an area where Germany got an abundance of its natural resources, and the occupation made it even more difficult for Germany to pay their reparations. -
Corfu Crisis
Italian troops were killed by Greek Bandits. Benito Mussolini demanded an absurd amount of compensation from Greece in which they denied paying, so Italy would occupy the city of Corfu. The League of Nations intervened, demanding Italy leave Greece, yet Italy denied. This situation shows the League's inability to assert its authority. -
Dawes Plan
The Dawes plan was a plan to solve Germany's issues paying their Post-War reparation payments after WWI. This plan reduced the annual amount of Germany's reparations and made it easier for them to pay their money back. -
Locarno Conference
In the conference France, Germany, and Belgium agreed to respect each other's joint borders. French and Belgian forces also had to leave the Ruhr. This conference ignited a feeling of peace worldwide and was the first time France was willing to cooperate at anything regarding Germany. -
Kellogg-Briand Pact
The Kellogg-Briand Pact was an international agreement to outlaw war and solve all international problems via peaceful discussions. This Pact was meant to prevent any future conflicts like WWI and condemn use of military force to solve disputes worldwide. -
Young Plan
The Young Plan reduced Germany's overall amount of war reparations and stabilizing the suffering German economy. Germany was also given extended time to pay their reparations.
