The Australian Force land at Gallipoli with troops from New Zealand, Britain, and France to fight the Turkish. The troops were very crowded on the small beach. They were faced with steep cliffs that they had to climb to get off the beach. In an effort to take the Dardanelles from the Turkish Ottoman Empire forcing them out of the war. 60,000 Australians and 18,000 New Zealanders were part of thi British force. 26,000 Australians and 7,571 New Zealanders were wounded.

The reason the US got involved was because of the naval war between Germany and Great Britain. Britain set up a naval blockade, preventing materials and other goods getting to Germany by sea. To retaliate Germany enforced its blockade using unrestricted submarine warfare, which caused the sinking of passenger ships. A British ship, was sunk by German forces. The death of these Americans caused the US to join the war.

It was the only successful Australian attack against the Turkish. It was intended to divert any attempts made by NZ and/or Australian units to breakout from the ANZAC battlefield. This battle resulted in over 2,000 Australian casualties. Seven Victoria Crosses were awarded for bravery to Australian soliders.

The Battle of Tannenberg was a massive defeat for the Russian Army. The plan was the Russians would attack the Germans in self defence. Of the 150,000 Russian soldiers that fought, 30,000 were killed and 95,000 were taken prisoner. You could say it failed.

The allies evacuate 83,000 troops from the battlefields of Suvla Bay at ANZAC Cove in Gallipoli. The Turkish were unaware of this evacuation taking place. Any dead comrades where left behind.

Guillemont was a fortress that had dugouts and underground tunnels. It was a very tough fort for the Geramns to capture but they manged to keep it. This battle was made to distract the Germans away from the Roman.

Unrestricted submarine warfare is a naval warfare where submarines sink ships without warning, as opposed to attacks where before sinking them you warn them to stop.

It took place during the Sinai and Palestine Campaign of the First World War. The Ottoman Army fought against the British Empire until finally the British captured the Ottoman base at Seria. This resulted in a British win.

The US First Division attacked the Germans occupying a French village close to Paris. The Americans plotted this attack to gain control of Cantigny and a central portion of the Cantigny lan which was an ideal observation area. The US was victorious in securing the area. This was a small battle but was America's first important battle in World War I.
