Foster father did not give him any money and started gambling getting him into debt and had to break funiture to burn to keep warm. -

Foster Father Dies
Foster father called upon Poe on his deathbed to voice all of his abusive opinions about him in 1834 and was left out of his will. His combative personality most likely caused by relationship with his foster father. -
Counsin Virginia
His 12 year old cousin is going to be sent to live with other relatives, he discovers that he loves her and goes on a drinking bindge. Wrote an emotional letter pleading for his aunt not to send Virginia away. -
Married
Married his counsin she was 13 and he was 26 and he lied about he age and said she was 21. -
The Raven
January 1845, The Raven was published. He only gained 14 dollars from the Raven. -
Wife Dies
His beloved wife, Virginia, dies. -
Proposal
He fell in love with a well known poetess and proposed in a cemetary. She agreed, they never got married. -
Engaged Again
He got engaged to a women he was engaged to when he was 17. -
Found Almost Dead
He was found laying semi-conscious He was not wearing his own clothes and no one knows how he got there. -
Death
The cause of his death is unknown and shortly before he died he said "God help my poor soul".
