ERNESTO'S CHILDHOOD
Che Guevara was born in Rosario, Argentina. His parents were Ernesto Guevara Lynch and Celia de la Serna. He was named Ernesto after his father. His parents, Ernesto Guevara Lynch and Celia de la Serna were a fairly wealthy middle class couple. He was an only child, he didn't have any brothers as sisters. -
THE TEENAGER ERNESTO AGE
They were an economically normal family and Ernesto had a good childhood. Guevara's parents were intellectuals and had a large library that allowed him to read avidly on a wide range of subjects.
Guevara's father taught him to play chess and he participated in local chess tournaments. -
ERNESTO ENTERS IN THE UNIVERSITY
Guevara entered the University of Buenos Aires to study medicine. During his summer vacation from university, Che made a 4,500 km tour of rural Argentina. He liked long excursions of many kilometers and without a fixed direction to go. -
ERNESTO'S TRAVELS TO MANY COUNTRIES
From January to September Ernesto took a year off study and, together with Alberto Granado, made an 8,000 km tour of much of South America. I have visited Argentina, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Panama and Florida in the United States. He was angered by the poverty and poor working conditions of workers and miners in South America. I have considered their plight to be the result of capitalism where the wealthy exploited the poor. Che returned to university and resumed his studies. -
TRAVELS AND MARRIAGE
After he finished his studies in Argentina, he left for Bolivia with another friend, Ferrer. They planned to go to Venezuela, passing through Peru and staying for some time in Guayaquil, Ecuador. They met others Argentinians and decided to go to Central America. They travelled through Panama, Costa Rica and Guatemala. There, Guevara met Hilda Gadea, whom he would marry with later, in Mexico. Guevara got in touch with Peruvian exiles. -
INVASIONS (1954-1956) PART 1
Now, the history of Ernesto is more constant, all the years happened something.On June, the invasion of Guatemala against Arbenz's government. Ernesto had to escape to Mexico, where he met Cuban exiles. (1954)
On July, he met Fidel Castro who told him about his plans to invade Cuba. He joined the group and started his military training. (1955)
On December, disembarked on Cuba's south coast. 18 of December, the 12 survivors started the first guerrilla in the Sierra Maestra. (1956) -
INVASIONS (1957-1959) PART 2 CUBAN REVOLUTION
On June, Ernesto was named commander. By the end of the year, the war in Cuba entered the decisive stage. Guevara was requested to make the journal Cuba Libre in the mountain range.(1957)
On December, Ernesto's column fought its final battle and overtook Santa Clara. December 31, president Fulgencio Batista escaped to Santo Domingo.(1958)
On January, the triumphal entrance of Che and Camilo Cienfuegos in La Habana. February; Che is declared Cuban born. On June 2, he married Aleida March. -
ERNESTO BECOMES CUBAN CITIZEN
Che Receives the Cuban nationality and considered to be a Cuban citizen by birth. He had helped Cuba so, Cuban people were grateful because he wanted to become a Cuban citizen. -
ERNESTO'S LAST PROJECTS
CHE MAKES HIS LAST SPEECH : The 24th of February of 1965. This would be Guevara's last public speech in Algeria before he dies just two years later.
CHE ATTEMPTS TO STRUCTURE COUP IN CONGO : The 24th of April of 1965, they believed to have helped organize starting April 24 1965 a failed coup in Congo.
FIDEL TELLS CHE'S RESIGNATION : Fidel announced that Che resigned from his posts in Cuba and renounced his citizenship. He also told the masses that Guevara was off to establish other revolutions. -
ERNESTO IS CAPTURED
Ernesto was captured by Bolivian special forces lead by CIA Agent Felix Rodriguez. -
ERNESTO IS EXECUTED
Ernesto Guevara was executed in a schoolhouse in La Higuera in Bolivia.
