    In the formely Spanish controlled Netherlands, the Dutch people there claim independence after many riots against the Inquisition. They were not officially recognized as independent however.
  • Philip Attempts To Invade England

    Philip wants to invade England after Francis Drake, an English Sea Dog, invades Spanish Islands of the Americas, and is knighted by Queen Elizabeth I. He loses the battle despite having a much larger naval force, his armada being stopped in the English Channel with the weather ruining their chances.
  • A Huguenot Prince Takes The French Crown

    Henry IV takes the French kingdom under his control, and becomes Catholic so as to not start conflicts. He lets Protestants have religious tolerance, and gives them land. He also made roads and tried to improve economy.
  • Philip Rules Spain

    Philip had expanded Spain, and devouted his life to making his kingdom great, while also making money in the Americas.
  • Edict of Nantes

    Henry IV issues this to protect Protestants and allow them to start settlements.
  • The Tudors End With No Heir

    Elizabeth I has no heir, giving power to the Stuarts.
  • A Noble French King Is Killed, Leaves Throne To Son

    Henry IV is assassinated, and his son Louis XIII has to take over when he is only ten years of age.
  • Louis XIII appoints Richelieu

    Since the current King is much too young to rule, he appoints Cardinal Armand Richeleiu to be his main advisor who makes the central government stronger.
  • Charles I Takes the Throne

    He was just like his father, with no regard for Parliment.
  • Charles I Needs the Money

    Charles I summons Parliment as to raise taxes to support his lifestyle, but they force him to sign the Petition of Right which limits who he can imprison and force him to talk to Parliment about new tax limits.
  • Parliment Dissolves Under King Charles I

    Parliment is dissolved by the king, as he got what he wanted, and no longer needs them at the time.
  • Scots Rebel, The King Messed Up

    The king tries to get the Scots to become Anglican making them rebel as a nation. King Charles I suppresses them for about three years.

    Charles I calls to Parliment for help against the Scots, however, they revolt and do radical things such as execute his officals and say they can no longer be resolved.
  • Parliment Is Almost Crushed

    The King has his troops go to the House of Commons to kill or apprehend members of Parliment but they escape, starting the English Civil War.
  • Louis XIV inherits at age 5, he also has a advisor

    Since another French king is too young to rule, he has an advisor pcked by Richelieu named Cardinal Jules Mazarin. He also strengthes government.
  • Parliment Captures The King

    Parliment starts to win the civil war, and have the king in their custody. They plan to do what has never been done before.
  • Dutch Independence

    THe Dutch Netherlands are officialy recognized as an independent kingdom.
  • King Charles I Is Executed

    For the first time ever, a king is executed and tried by his own people.
  • England Becomes the Commonwealth

    Cromwell makes England into a republic and made Catholics live in Western Ireland.
  • Cromwell Becomes Lord Protector

    Cromwell become the Lord Protector, ruling through the army and does things such as welcoming Jews.
  • Oliver Cromwell Dies

    Oliver Cromwell, the head of the Commonwealth, dies. The country has no cemented ruler for a short while.
  • The New Parliment Brings Charles II Back

    Don't call it a comeback, but Charles II is brought out of exile by a new Parliment that was sick of Puritan rule. It's good to be king.
  • Louis XIV takes the throne back

    After his Cardinal advisor dies, he decides to take power back, becoming the Sun King.
  • Manchu Empire

    The Manchu took over the Ming Dynasty and restricted Western trade. Also built Beijing.
  • Spain In Decline

    Spain is in rapid decline with no good leadership after Philip II.
  • Sierra Leone Becomes A Thing

    The colony of Sierra Leone is started for former slaves to live in Africa.

    He crowns himself as Emperor of France.

    THe Hague Tribunal is a world court to settle disputes made at this time. It can not enfore it's rulings but was considered a step towards world peace.

    Serbia is freed from Ottoman control at last.

    The Panama Canal opens leading to an increase in trade and makes trading between continents easier.

    Archduke Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary is assassinated by Serbian terrorists leading to tensions between several countries and may have been the main reason for WWI.

    The USA joins the Great War after German submarines sink the Lusitania, British Ocean Liner with US citizens on it.

    The Battle of Somme leads to about a million soldier deaths but even more sadly did nothing to slow the Great War.

    Japan sends the 21 demands to Chineses government, which basically would give them some of their territory or some control, this later lead to tensions and fighting by WWII.

    THe US is now starting to fight and not only giving supplies during the Great War.

    The Russian Revolution leads to an overthrowing of the Czar, and fighting between Reds and Whites begins, eventually leading to the building of the USSR.

    The Great War is over thanks to truces between members of the Allies and Central Powers.

    The Paris Peace Conference meets and makes the Treaty of Versailles, this blames Germany, and later leads to WWII.

    After WWII, the Soviet's armies occupy much of Eastern Europe. The other countries become communist satellite states.
