Hitler took measures such as taking down anti-Jewish signs, and violence was suppressed during the Olympics. -
German Invasion of Poland
Germany invaded Poland because Hitler wanted German citizens to live there. He also considered the Polish people inferior compared to the Germans. In the last 3 months of 1939, the Nazi's killed over 65,000 Jewish and non-Jewish citizens. They captured over 230,000 citizens in POW encampments all over Poland. -

Japanese Americans Sent to Interment Camps
During WWII, the US forcibly put Japanese residents of the USA in concentration camps operated by the WRA (War Relocation Authority). They did this to help get rid of the paranoia of spies for Japan after the attack on Pearl Harbor. Essentially all Japanese Americans were forced to leave their homes and live in camps for most of the war. -
Tripartite Pact Signed
The Tripartite Pact was signed to allow a defense alliance between countries. It was largely created to deter the USA from entering the conflict. It ended up tightening bonds between Germany, Italy and Japan. -
Nazi's Establish Gas Chambers at Auschwitz
In December 1939, the Sonderkommando unit previously used carbon monoxide as a way to euthanize patients beyond help. However, in 1941 the Germans started using this gas in a way to quickly get rid of the Jews without much struggle. Historians estimate that around 1.1 million people died in Auschwitz during the less than 5 years of its use. The majority, around 1 million people, were Jews. -
Pearl Harbor
The attack on Pearl Harbor was the attack that looped the USA into WWII as it was the first attack on the USA. The Japanese created the attack and the attack was accidentally a surprise attack due to the fact that the deceleration of war didn't make it to the US on time. -
Battle of Krusk
The battle of Krusk was the largest tank battle both during WWII and in general. It marked the clear end of Germany's offensive capabilities on the Eastern front. Germany ended up loosing the battle after many casualties on each side totaling up to over 1 million deaths with the Soviet totaling more deaths than Germany. -
D-Day
The main purpose of D'Day was an attempt to force Germany to surrender by capturing the city of Caen in France. In the end, D'Day was a failure resulting in the deaths of many American soldiers. This also plays a part in the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki because the USA's two options were repeating another D'Day or bombing Japan. -

Iwo Jima was one of the last battles in WWII, it was a battle between American forces and the Japanese. The American forces fought for the island of Iwo Jima and its airfields. -
Atomic Bombs Dropped on Japan
The atomic bombs were dropped on Japan to bring them out of the war after Germany was taken out of the war. The 'Little Boy' was dropped on Hiroshima, and the 'Fat Man' was dropped on Nagasaki. -
Axis Powers Surrendered
Hitler committed suicide in April of 1945 prompting Germany to surrender in May of 1945. After Japan refused to surrender, the USA bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki, eventually forcing Japan to surrender.
