On September 23, 1918, Captain Bill noticed many people getting sick. It was the third day out. Several officers were in the hospital sick. Most of them were diagnosed with Spanish leukemia. It was mostly all men. -

October 22, 1918, Captain bill was very scared and concerned. He fears that the war will end before we even get into it. He would have made a trip to france for nothing. He has mailed out so many letters. Also has been getting ready to fight for so long. -

December 23, 1918, Artists signed that there were no heavy guns for use, and the regiment was returned to the United States leaving Brest. Captain bill was very disappointed. That they were not able to get atleast one shot.
