  • Assassination of Ferdinand

    June 28, 1914, The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria. He wanted to free Bonsai. Herzegovina of Austria-Hungarian rule. Establish a common South Slav state. He tried to be presumptive to the throne of Austria-Hungary.
  • Lusitania was sunk

    The ship Lusitania was sunk on May 7, 1915. In Ireland, Lusitania was hit by a torpedo. Later, it was followed by a larger explosion 20 minutes after the torpedo. At exactly 2;12 P.M. The ship was about 11 miles off of Kinsale Ireland.
  • Battle Of Somme

    July 1, 1916, The battle of Somme started. This battle came to relieve the pressure off of France. By launching a British and France fight. They attack the Somme River. They wanted to wear down the German army.
  • Declared war on Germany

    On April 6, 1917, the United States declared war on Germany. The President at the time Wildrow Wilson signed the declaration bill. They wanted to go to war for Germany sinking the U.S’s ships. Also, Germany's attempts to form an alliance with Mexico against the United States. Germany also declared war before the attack on Pearl Harbour.

    Battle of Amens

    Battle Of Amens august 8-11, 1918, Allied commands that they need to push Germany out of France. It was a success leading them to victory. They fought with large tanks.

    Captain Bill and his crew left for Long Island Sound Boat. The boat left by 8:50 A.M. It arrived at Yaphank Camp. Around 11-12. So the letter would be mobilized Friday the 13 of September 1918.

    September 13, 1918, Earl M. Bill, mailed a letter to Fort Schuyler. Not meaning to intimidate anyone. He was expressing concern. Him and his soldiers safety and condition. Saying how not lot of them returned.
  • Spanish Leukemia

    On September 23, 1918, Captain Bill noticed many people getting sick. It was the third day out. Several officers were in the hospital sick. Most of them were diagnosed with Spanish leukemia. It was mostly all men.
  • Captain Bills doubt

    October 22, 1918, Captain bill was very scared and concerned. He fears that the war will end before we even get into it. He would have made a trip to france for nothing. He has mailed out so many letters. Also has been getting ready to fight for so long.
  • Gun Ban

    December 23, 1918, Artists signed that there were no heavy guns for use, and the regiment was returned to the United States leaving Brest. Captain bill was very disappointed. That they were not able to get atleast one shot.
