Chicago Fire
On October 8th 1871 a fire broke out in Chicago. The whole town was made of wood and was a huge fire hazard. The fire ended up killing 300 people and left a ton of people homeless. Burning down 3.5 square miles of buildings. -
Statue Of Liberty
The French made the Statue Of Liberty for the United States as a gift. They first started to build it in 1883. In 1884 they finished building the statue and gave it to the U.S. on June 17th 1885. -
National Parks
National Parks were created in 1906. Theodore Roosevelt created them because he loved nature and wanted places that wouldn't be built on top of. He wanted people to be able to enjoy nature so, national parks were made so that they cant be built over and people can enjoy nature. -
Food & drug administration
The Food and Drug Administration was created in 1906. It was created to prevent bad things from being in the food we eat.
