    Autonomy Vs Shame and Doubt
    This is an early development for children around the ages of 2-4 years old. They are exploring their self and the environment. Wondering about their identity with both of their parents required. If the children are raised in a home where their exploration is encouraged, they will develop confidence. However, if they are controlled or overly criticized, they will doubt their abilities.
  • Initative Vs Guilt

    Initative Vs Guilt
    This is the third stage where children are often interacting with the environment at 4-5 years old. Around this time, they will be in preschool where they learn basic knowledge and wonder if what they are doing is good or bad. Uplifting this behavior will cause them to continue with their interests with no guilt. If controlled or held back, it will damage their skill to take initiative.
  • Industry Vs. Inferiority

    Industry Vs. Inferiority
    This is the fourth stage of Erikson's psychosocial theory of development. This is when children in the age group of 5-12 years old find out their own identity. It is the stage where kids develop social, academic or sports abilities. Anyone can be of influence for which of the two they will fall on. If they are given a support system, they will be more hard-working. On the other hand, if people in their school or home gives them an excessive amount of criticism, they will develop self-doubt.
