Briscola
Briscola is an Italian card game we used to play as a family, so it's important to me as it both related to my Italian background but is super fun and the olden look of the cards is effective as some cards have their own stories associated with it. This was one of the first games I played and introduced me to the competitive feeling of playing multi-player games. While we don't play this as much as as a family, I still have it as a mobile game and enjoy the mental/strategic aspect. -
Princess Peach
One of the first games that I can remember playing is Super Princess Peach. When I was younger I spent a lot of time at my Nannan's house and I would bring my DS and play it. So, this game is nostalgic because it reminds me of being at her house and getting super frustrated when I got stuck and her telling me to keep going! While the game design is pixelated and outdated I loved the look of it and the vibrant colour it made playing the game feel special. -
Minecraft
After school my dad and I would play Minecraft after I did my homework and so it is nostalgic but also I like it because it has no clear ending and you can play as much as you want adding farming or going to the nether. Also, it's a game i could always come back to even years later because restarting was one of the best parts and I don't think thats the case for many games I played. -
Plants vs Zombies
As kids my brother and i would play Plants vs Zombies as mobile games and I loved the animation style as well as the game style of winning each level and moving locations and unlocking the different pants, while also having to maintain our induvial garden. This was the first game that I played for a long time constantly. -
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
Unchartedon PS4 was one of the first more realistic storyline games I played with more of a darker colour palate and more mature of a game. While I wasn't great at it, i enjoyed playing the more detailed storyline and gameplay. This game is also important because it was the first one that made me wounder how these games are made and was one of the factors that sparked an interest in animation and visual effects. -
Super Mario Odyssey
Mario Odyssey was the first switch game I played and I loved the layout as it was similar to my DS. The game was also good fun and it's one that I could play multiple times for fun as there are always more moons or coins to collect making it my go to game. I love the classic vibrant colours and cartoonish style adding to the design of the game. Also, the way creatures in the game speak english expect for Mario was something I always liked its usual and not found in any other games I played.
