    First settlement.

The first establishment of Libestal is often listed in 702 A.C., though tribes have lived in the area for thousands of years prior. A group of nomads decided to take refuge at what is now modern-day downtown Libestal, thus the nation's history began.

British sailors discover Libestal, which at this point is a rather busy city with just over 400 residents. Trade negotiations falter, and the British end up taking over Libestal. This marks the beginning of Libestal's third era, Puppet Libestal- not a kingdom, but a colony of Great Britain.
  • Mysterious Meteors

According to Libestal's documents, 20 mysterious meteors landed around the kingdom's walls on this date. Claims say that a leader of an opposition group prayed for 20 brave warriors, which are just what came out of those meteors. Although, they look rather adorable.

    Libestal Revolution.

The people stand up against their oppressive conquerors, arming themselves with bows and arrows. This is technically the Republic of Libestal, but it was more an oligarchy at the time. An oligarchy of 20 knights, knights turned leaders.
  • First Expeditions.

With the rather conservative king gone, Libestal's 20 knights, each with an army, can conquer the surrounding land that has yet to be inhabited. Like dominoes, one by one, each does the last one better until they settle on a spot. Each spot resulted in the cities we know today.
  • Rail Roulette

With a landslide pass of 20/20 votes in the Grand Council of Libestal, Lady Watson chartered the Watson Railway Company in 1837. In August of the same year, a railroad line began construction from Watsonville to downtown Libestal, and was completed in September of 1941. The line opened for service shortly after, and is still active to this day.

    WWII

World War II saw Libestal's first foreign deployment of its forces. Some 40,000 men fought in the Pacific theater under the command of Lady Gura. Most did not make it back, resulting in May 31st being Libestal's national Veterans Day.
  • Period: to

    Republic of Libestal.

The 20 oligarchs return power to the people by setting up democratic elections. Finally, the nation lives up to its name - the REPUBLIC of Libestal. The oligarchs join Libestal's Grand Council, overseeing the actions of the president and the government's branches. That's how it still is today.
