On November 6, 1860, Lincoln was elected the 16th president of the United States. He beat the Democrat Stephen A. Douglas, John C. Breckinridge a Southern Democrats, and John Bell of new Constitutional Union Party. He was the first president for the Republican. -
Abraham Lincoln's Assassination
In the spring of 1865 Abraham Lincoln was killed by John Booth. Originally he was just going to kidnap and not kill him but he later changed his mind. Booth shot Lincoln in the back of the head and killed him. -

James Garfield In July of 1881 James Garfield was assassinated by Charles J. Guiteau. Guiteau shot Garfield in the arm and back. Charles was later arrested and when he was he said that he did it and he wanted to be arrested and that Authur was finally president. -

McKinley served from March 4, 1897 to September 14, 1901. He was assassinated by Leon Czolgosz. He shot Mckinley twice in the abdomen. After Czolgosz shot McKinley, the crowd began to beat him severely and McKinley yelled “Boys! Don’t let them hurt him!” -
Replacing McKinley
After McKinley was killed he was replaced with Theodore Roosevelt. Theodore was the younger person to become president. He was in Republican Party. -

JFK was born in Brookline, Massachusetts on May 29, 1917. His parents were Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr., and Rose Fitzgerald. This middle name came from his mother's last name. After he was born he lived in Brookline for ten years. -
