The Bill of Rights is the name of the first ten amendments to the United States constitution. The founding fathers made these rights to protect our citizens. -

The United States bought 828,000,000 square miles of land from France. This amount of land doubled what they had. Today that land is 15 states. -

Lewis, an American explorer and Clark explored the new land recently bought by America. The expedition took three years and they explored about 8,000 miles. -
Florida becomes U.S state
Spanish was under Florida rule and Spain couldn't afford the Government and soldiers to enforce the law. Florida was a refuge to runaway slaves and Native Americans. The U.S attacked Florida to gain their land and succeeded. -
Indian Removal Act
The act was approved by the U.S Congress to kick out the Indians in the Southern States out of their own home. -
Trail of Tears
As a part of Andrew Jackson's Indian Removal Act the Cherokee nation was forced to walk to Oklahoma. The journey was tragic and many people died. -
Mexian American War
The war happened because of a conflict because the Mexican resentment over the U.S annexation of Texas and a border dispute. This was the only major war between the two nations. The war was fought in the northeastern and central Mexico. The U.S won. -
Transcontential Railroad Completed
The first Transcontinental railroad was from the East coast of the U.S to the West coast. People could then travel faster, safer, and cheaper by train. Also, they could get things like mail, supplies, and traded goods from one place to another faster.
