Battle of the Netherlands
The Battle of the Netherlands was part of Case Yellow, the German invasion of the Low Countries during World War II. The battle lasted until the main Dutch forces surrendered. Dutch troops in the province of Zealand continued to resist the Wehrmacht until Germany completed its occupation of the whole nation. The Netherlands and France were against Germany. The Germans won the battle. -

Anne Frank and her sister, Margot, were to the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, where they both died of typhus.
Otto Frank was the only survivor of the family. He returned to Amsterdam after the war to find that Anne's diary had been saved, and his efforts led to its publication in 1947. It was translated from its original Dutch and first published in English in 1952. It has since been translated into many languages.
