Henry VIII Breaks Away From Roman Church
When King Henry VIII wanted to divorce his wife, the pope would not allow it, and he decided he was going to force Henry and his wife to stay married. This did not make Henry very happy, so he decided to pass a law called The Act of Supremacy, which put the King at the head of the church, over the pope. In doing this, the Pope and the King became two separate churches, but with pretty much the same beliefs. -
