King Henry Divorced Catherine of Aragon today. Henry became agrevated that Catherine was unable to produce a Male heir to the throne, he began to grow interest in Ann Boleyn and slowly began to seperate from Catherine.

When King Henry VIII wanted to divorce his wife, the pope would not allow it, and he decided he was going to force Henry and his wife to stay married. This did not make Henry very happy, so he decided to pass a law called The Act of Supremacy, which put the King at the head of the church, over the pope. In doing this, the Pope and the King became two separate churches, but with pretty much the same beliefs.

King Henry VII wrote these laws to declare the king as the head of the church, rather than the pope. This was popular with the public because they would no longer be taxed by the church.

King Henry felt as though Jane was his first 'true wife' she was able to complete all of his wishes including giving him a male heir to the throne, Prince Edward. Jane came to work in court in service of Queen Catherine. It is thought that King Henry first "noticed" Queen Catherine when he stayed at the Seymour family home in Wilshere, it wasn't until later that King Henry realized his new love for Queen Catherine. Catherine was unsure what to think due to the treatment of his past wives.
