Toussaint L'Ouverture's Reign
Toussaint L'Ouverture was originally a Spanish slave in the slave trade, after he escaped he helps invade the French colony of Saint Domingue (now Haiti). in 1800, he gained his full control of Saint Domingue and became the leader, after colonial fights, he won the land of Hispaniola. 1801, he loses control after a new colony claimed the island back, and they give remarks of kindness to the native leaders. in 1802, after he was taken back to France, he was left to die in prison, which happened. -

This was a war that was fought for the independence of Cuba from Spanish Inquisition and colonialism. Cubans were being taxed unfairly, misrepresented, etc. and they wanted to revolt for their own way of living. At the end of the war, it ended in a stalemate and but brought out a new platform to help them gain independence from the war in 1895. -

US Main ship was fired at and blown up by Cuban forces which sparked the Spanish-American War. Teddy Roosevelt fought against Spanish in Cuba with small cavalries, and after the Treaty of Paris was signed, the fighting halted. After this, PR and Cuba was given up to the US for some control. -

The US tried to interfere, but they are asked to removed missiles from in Turkey. Khrushchev and Kennedy declared an agreement to remove missiles from Cuba and Turkey. -
