    The French and Indian War was between Britain and France, with Native Americans helping both sides. They fought over land and trade in North America. The Britain won, but the War cost a lot of money, so they taxed the colonies and made people mad before the Revolution.

    The Sons of Liberty were a few people who was angry about the unfair British taxes and fought against them. They planned protests and sometimes made sure to cause trouble. Their actions helped start the American Revolution.

    The Battle of Trenton was on December 16, 1776, where George Washington led his army to cross the Delaware River and catch the Hessians off guard. The win gave the colonists to keep on fighting for themselves.

    Townshend Act of 1767

    This act was a law where the Britain taxed everyone for stuff like paint, glass, tea, and also paper. These money all went to the British leaders, which made the colonists upset. The taxes made them boycott and protest against them, which pushed the colonies closer to American Revolution.

    March 5, 1770 was the day that the Boston Massacre occurred. It first started with the colonists taunting and throwing stuff at the British soldiers, which ended up with the British soldiers killing 5 people and injuring a few other colonists.

    On December 16, 1773, the Boston Tea Party happened. The colonists were mad with the British taxes on tea. Undercover as Native Americans, they boarded British ships and dumped the tea into Boston Harbor. This made them realized that they were ready to fight the Britain for their rights.

    The Battle of Lexington and Concord happened on April 19, 1775. British soldiers tried to take supplies from the colonist, but the colonists stood their ground. They fought back and didn't let the British take any.

    The Olive Branch petition was sent to England on July 5, 1775 as a final attempt to avoid any war. The colonists wrote to King George III requesting for peace and to fix all of their problems with the Britain. The king refused to accept the petition and read it, which made the colonists realize that the only way to their freedom was fighting for it.

    Thomas Paine's Common Sense published

    On January 10, 1776, Thomas Paine wrote Common Sense, which became very popular amongst the colonists. He used very clear languages to explain why being ruled by the Britain was wrong and how becoming independent was the best choice. The pamphlet motivated a lot of colonists to support being independent and helped push the colonists toward revolution.

    The Declaration of Independence was written on July 4, 1776, it announced that the colonies were breaking free from the Britain. It said everyone have rights, like liberty and life, and that the governments must protect all of them. By signing the documents, the colonies officially declared themselves free and indepedent.

    The Articles of Confederation was created in 1776, where the first rules was for how the United States would be run. It gave most power to the states and made other governments very weak, this also made it very hard for the government to collect any taxes, or solve problems between other states. The problems showed them that they needed a stronger government, which led to the creation of the U.S. Consitution.

    On August 16, 1780, The Battle of Camden broke out in South Carolina. The British army crushed the American forces under General Gates. Even thought they got defeated, the American stood their ground and still fought for their independence.

    Battle of Yorktown

    The Battle of Yorktown started on September 28, 1781 and ended on October 19, 1770. It was the final crucial fight of the American Revolution. Both George Washington and the French army ringed the British army. After the British army was trapped, the British gave in, which ended the war and secured American independence.

    The Constitutional Convention happened on May 25, 1787 in Philadelphia, where leaders from all the different types of states met to fix the problems of the Articles of Confederation. The old plan made national very weak, so the leaders decided to create a new plan. At the meeting, they talked about how much power the government should have, how the states should be represented and etc.
  • Great Compromise

    Great Compromise

    Great Compromise was a very major agreement during the Constitutional Convention in 1787. It solved the issues of how states would be represented in Congress. It created two different houses: the Senate, where each states gets the same number of representative, and the other being the House of Representative, where amends is according on a states population.
