The Indian and French war (Also known as the 7 Year War) was a clash between the British and French over North American Territories/Land. Along the way, Indians joined the French Colonies to fend against the British. The war ended in 1763 when the Treaty Of Paris was signed between the two. With the treaty being signed the French conceded most of their North American land to the British.

After the war between the French and Indians the British's capital substantially decreased. This act was made by the British to tax the American colonies to increase their revenue. With this act they required colonists to purchase these stamps and apply it on legal papers, pamphlets, newspapers, dices, and almanacs. The Colonies opposed of this idea starting riots and complaints calling it out as "taxation without representation."

Another method for the British to raise revenue from the American colonies by taxation was the Townshend act of 1767. This act consisted of FOUR sub acts under one; The revenue act of 1767, The commissioners of customs act of 1767, The indemnity act of 1767, and the New York restraining act of 1767. The main purpose of this act was to tax the American colonies imported goods such as; tea, glass, lead, etc. This act also lead to more opposition by the colonies.

Soldiers was sent over to some areas in America to gain control over the colonies, one of them being Boston. Still feeling infuriated by the British's mass amount of taxation within the colonies, they kept their protests consistent. One evening somewhere in King Street, right outside the Customhouse, a group of colonists was throwing objects and giving verbal taunts at one of the soldiers causing him to call backup. Getting too out of hand the Soldiers decided to fire causing deaths and injuries

Taxation from the British within imported goods such as tea caused American Colonies to start boycotting it and started to smuggle tea from other countries. British responded by making their tea competitive with the ones being smuggled in but the colonies paid no attention to it. One day the colonists dressed up as Native Americans stormed into Griffin's Wharf, boarding ships that contained boxes of tea before throwing it off the ship as a form of protest, thus closing the harbor.

A meeting was held in Pennsylvania where 12 representatives of each colony discusses the acts given by the British Parliament. For almost 2 months, each colony met up everyday discussing and electing congress. On the 14th of October the Congress created the "Declaration of rights." Right before ending the congress agreed that they will meetup once more if the British continues their pursuits in control and taxation within the colonies.

This was the first real sign of physical aggression regarding the American colonies and the British. On night before the war, British troops travelled from Boston to Concord, Massachusetts (passing Lexington in the process) to seize military advances. This ended with Hundreds of causalities and over a hundred deaths. The day that the British attacked was the day that sparked the American Revolution.

This battle was located just north of Boston. The night before, the colonial troops spent time anchoring and reinforcing the hill waiting for the British to arrive. Around 3:30 the British soldiers lead by general Howe marched over towards the bunker ready to attack. Though the British won the battle, the colonists was given a sense of hope for their freedom and encouraged them to keep their advances.

Thomas Paine was a pamphlet writer born in New York. He created a pamphlet for American colonists in hopes for them to proclaim independence. This pamphlet skyrocketed in popularity once published and over the course of 3 months the pamphlet sold around 120,000 copies amongst over 3 million people. This pamphlet was the pivotal factor to win the colonists into their favor and shift the public opinion.

After numerous battles with the British the thirteen colonies met up and decided to create a declaration. Around June 2nd they initiated a vote for independence soon after they created the declaration of independence on the 4th of July. The declaration was made to inform the colonies about their separation from the British and why. The texts explains that we are all created equal and that we are endowed to have rights, pursuit of happiness, and liberty.

Right before this battle George Washingtons army kept on getting setbacks and kept losing battles of land. The Morale within the soldiers was low. After the defeat in New York, Washington and his army travelled to Trenton, New Jersey where they then planned a surprise attack to the Hessian's claiming the victory. This small victory revived the hopes in the colonies for independence.

This originally started by a planned attacked from the British from the south and west heading towards Saratoga. This was a back and forth between the British and the colonies fighting for land. Being defeated by the American troops in Freeman's Farm and Bemis heights in New York, the general Burgoyne alongside his men had to surrender in Saratoga, October 17. This battle was also known as the turning point for the American colonies because of the French's assist to the Americans.

The French has been secretly aiding the American colonies to help them fend from the British since 1776. After winning the Battle of Saratoga the French and the thirteen colonies decided to go public and create a treaty of alliance with each other. This alliance consisted of the French aiding the colonies with battle ships and troops. Both French and American colonies agreed that they won't settle for peace with the British till the American colonies gains their independence.

This was considered the last Major battle and the ending point of colonialism within the Americans. The Americans and French decided to team up against the British in Yorktown attacking with approximately 14,000 troops. The British being overpowered in both sea and land was forced to surrender and retreat. Right after the British's surrender, the Americans slowly got rid of each British troops on their land.

The treaty of Paris was signed after the Americans victory against the British. This agreement was signed between the American and British representatives. This agreement was the end of the American Revolutionary war as the British used this treaty to acknowledge America's independence. This treaty was named after the city both parties signed the agreement in, Paris, France.
